Swarf Depth

Background: I cut plastics with a 5 axis Motionmaster. Question: I need to cut through the plastic. Therefore I need my swarf cuts to be deeper that the lower rail of my drawing. How do I tell Mastercam to move below the lower rail? Please help…..thanks.

Where in Kansas are you at Grand and what company I'm originally from Kansas. I use curve 5 paths to program plastic parts on a thermwood and I change the vector depth is how I do it.

Sometimes i use a G44Tx tool length comp. I don't know the g code for your machine.

Grand go back to the Geo in the ops manger for the Swarf 5 axis and you will see the option how far past lower rail do you want to go.

if you select the geometry button in your parameter set in the ops manager you will see a function that allows the user to set the tool based on the lower rail position. even though the prompt reads "distance above lower rail" place a negative value in it and it will lower the tool past the rail based on the depth given.

Thanks all, looks like I’ve got plenty of options. Matt, we are out by Hays. Jay, I completely missed that. I should be able to put a – number in there and come out all right. Thanks again all!!!
