Haas Lathe Parts Catcher

I've been trying to get my hands on a lathe with four options.  Tool Eye, Chip Auger, Tailstock, and a Parts Catcher.  I just found one at a pretty good price, but minus the parts catcher.  Is it feasible to add a parts catcher post factory?  I suppose anything is doable with enough time and money, but what do you guys think?

In my experience, it'a always more expensive to add features after the fact.

You can definitely add it, sometimes they are simply added that the sellers Warehouse

What parts are you doing? Do you need one?

Or you could just add a chip fryer wire basket and let the parts drop into it. We do that and we get less damage than using our catcher.

My old bossed pappy made one from a plastic bin and clamped it on the shaft of the tailstock. Then he would advance it during cutoff.

Done that for rings/disc jobs. Advance the tailstock with a bar in it into the bore of the job and part off so the bar catches the parts.

Man, I need to check my posts more often... good ideas here.

I'm looking for an SL10 or SL20 y2000 or later.
