Honestly though, those are all top of the line CMM's. I doubt you couls go wrong with either of them.

Really ought to double check on the zeiss

Zeiss has introduced a number of new machines in the last couple of years that are affordable. Their software (Calypso) is very good. Import the solid of surface model from Mastercam, click on the feature/surface you want to measure, input a few parameters, done!

 

IMO, most reputable CMMs are mechanically equal. It is the software functionality and ease of use that will determine which machine is "best".

I have seen more DEA's out there in Big Shops and I've not heard one bad thing about them.
