How can keep tool down when finish path of pocket has lead in/out

How can keep tool down when finish toolpath of pocket has leadin/out.

In version 8.11 just check:

1. Start finish pass at closest entity

2. Keep tool down

That should do it..

Thank you for your response. But still cann't keep tool down if check on "Machine finish passes after roughing all packets".

I don't think you'd want to have it stay down when doing multiple pockets, would you? If you have a wall, it's gonna get wiped out.

The tool will know it needs to move up in order to cut the next pocket or contour.

On my computer, by checking "keep tool down" on the third tab of the pocketing parameters, keeps the tool down. There has got to be something you are missing.

In close contour, which want to finished inside of close contour, I often use finish toolpaht of pocket(check off "rough" and check on "finish" on roughing/finishing prarmeter page) instead of contour toolpath. This method dosn't need to decide the tool offset way. Becuase this reason, I hope the finish toolpahts of pocket can keep tool down when leadin/out.

I programme pockets much the same way and here is an example of my settings for a pocket with top of stock at Z0

Check your clearance plane to absolute 3mm,retact to incrememtal 0.5mm,feed plane to incremental 0.25mm,and depth cuts to keep tool down. works for me
