Cycle times backplot V's X+

I have a job that involves a lot of drilling and I'm trying to get a cycle time.

MC Backplot says 5min 8sec for all the drilling ops (81 Holes)

X+ says 59 minutes.

But some of the Op cycle times from X+ have me scratching my head.

Spot drill 8 holes = 5.5 minutes (1mm deep)

Drill the same 8 holes 30mm deep = 6 minutes

If you can't use MC for accurate cycle times what do you guys do to get one?

What if you don't have the job and your quoting it and you'd like a good idea of cycle time.

Or productiuon planning needs a cycle time for scheduling a new job?

Surely it's not that hard for a CAM system to give a cycle time, it knows the distances travelled and @ what feed rates. The machine def also has the rapid rates.

Sure there is acceleration and deceleration and tool change, but come on 5 minutes to drill 81 holes in P20 x 51mm deep. I wish!

All drilling ops are straight drilling NO pecking using solid carbide drills.

Drill feeds at 1300 mm/min through 50mm plate, so that's around 3 seconds per hole.

X+ gives a cycle time of 21.25 minutes to drill 36 holes. Thats around .6 minutes per hole

Something is way off!
