  1. I sent the file to CQ and got an answer that the file crashes because of special characters in file name. This was logged bug already. Smrk has these special letters in his language also so might be the same bug.

  2. can you put the stp file on the ftp site?

No but Im going to send it to QC when I have time. That .stp file also crashed when I had it selected in file open and clicked the options button.

  3. After update to X6 MU2 i have problem when opening some .stp files, mastercam crashes.

I noticed this too today. X6 MU2 crashes everytime I try to open this .Stp file but in X5MU1 it opens normally.

  4. I am not sure if you get my point. You were a beta tester so I clicked reply on you but the question was meant for all.

You sound like you and I already think along the same lines anyways.

My point was that most of the problems I keep hearing about crashing comes directly with verify.

Most of them when using STL's as stock.

That is what I meant, why use STL as stock escapes me.

People complain about Mastercams verify being unsuitable. I find it to be very good.

Using your solid part or surfaces of the part run through the machin sim will point out every gouge and where it is in the code so you can fix it.

The legacy verify will show gouges on the part as well you just have to look for them but it is faster to run.

Now I can understand the need to compare your machined part against your model.

    But heres my thoughts....

If it doesnt gouge I'm good. I will visually inspect the part to see if there is any problems.

If it looks good to me I give the part to QC and they tell me where the excess material is....that is what I pay them for...

How are you supposed to verify 3d rest roughing if you dont use saved stl stock from the previous operation?

  5. You could always test it by creating another folder to E: drive and point only the Mastercam part files to it. I have had situations where I made a config folder for all my personal settings operation defaults, posts ect. but when I put my tool libraries there they just would not stick. I had to make a specific folder to them and now they stay where they should.

  6. coming right off of surfcam, MC bit me with retract clearance when standing cor geometry

is higher then my z-0-. Surfcam doesn't have ludicrous defaults that you have to seek out

It come out of the box in safe mode.......

My favourite in X6 was that all the high speed toolpaths had tooltip defaulted at center. But Im a professional programmer so I should know to look for these

  7. You know what guys this can be helpful info but I must say that I think you need to say if you are running the 64 bit or the 32 bit as the 64 bit is new and I wonder if it is that or just X6 or could be related to being a new thing.

    What you think?

64 bit here. The paths that I run in verify are usually quite big 3d surface paths. When I had a crash in X5 MU1 verify, I could just close it and continue working but in X6 mu1 the whole program freezes and I have to close it from task manager.

  8. G5P10000 is HPCC on, G5P0 is off. There is no seting for P, it's 10000 or 0. SOmetimes on AI-NANO II, you have a G5.1Q1 Rx., with the "x" being a value between 0 and 10. 0 being I prefer speed over accuracy and 10 being accuracy is the #1 consideration with ACC/DEC being handles accordingly.

This works also in HPCC, G05 P10000 R1.-R10.
