  1. Hey Pete, I just got back to using 2023 (update 4) recently and this is still happening. Any solutions yet besides saving as Parasolid?
  2. Yes, I spoke to Jack about this today too. I originally posted this over the weekend before I called just in case some other user had the same issue. Sounds like everybody's on the same page now. Thanks for your help.
  3. Sorry about that. Was doing too many things at once. Try this. Everything should be there now. CNC SETUP FOR 3227- ASPERA MCP INSULATOR.zip
  4. Sorry, I meant SW 2022 files. Here's one of them. CNC SETUP FOR 3227- ASPERA MCP INSULATOR.zip If you select configuration "OP1.1", you should only see 2 parts after opening. No fasteners.
  5. Yes, I saw the dialog box which asks you which configuration that you want to open. I've been doing this for years. I've even tried other files. They do the same thing. I thought it might be an issue with SW 2023 files, but it also does it on older version files too. If I open the same files in MC 2021, everything works as it should.
  6. I just got 2023 installed (have been using 2021) and I must say, everything went smoother than ever before. Migration and configuration worked flawlessly. My problem is now when I open a Solidworks assembly file and select the desired configuration from the resulting menu, ALL of the parts get imported instead of just the ones in the desired configuration. In all previous MC versions, only the parts shown in the configuration selected would come into Mastercam. Is this a bug or some new configuration setting that isn't set right?
  7. I just got off the phone with CNC Software. Tom told me this has been an issue on Win7 machines w/NVidia graphics cards with drivers after 370.00 since 2017 (I think it might have me reporting it because that's when I first had this problem). Unfortunately, it has not yet been resolved. I guess we will have to live with it until around this time next year when SolidWorks stops supporting Win7. He said it only happens on Win7 machines.
  8. The worst part is that this happened to me a couple of years ago and I got it resolved, but I can't remember what I did to fix it.
  9. Yes, as I stated. Quadro K2200. Also did it with K620.
  10. Update 8/17/19- Never solved this. Don't want to use old drivers to fix this because SolidWorks 2019 doesn't like them. Using the latest driver certified by SolidWorks (430.64) makes SW happy but problem still happens when I launch MC. Tried latest driver from Nvidia website (431.70) and no help. Tried the block transfer mode trick above with no help. Only does this when I launch MC. Goes back to Aero mode when closing MC. Can't find any current fix for this on this forum or MC knowledge base. Anybody had and fixed this problem lately?
  11. I've had this problem before after updating Nvidia Quadro driver to the one recommended by SolidWorks but I can't remember how I fixed it. After installing SW 2019, I updated to driver 411.81 per the SW website and now when I launch MC (2018 or 2019), the Aero Desktop switches to standard mode. If I roll back the driver to 377.11, it works fine. SolidWorks seems OK with this driver, but it's a bit frustrating that their recommended driver doesn't play well with Mastercam. Anybody else have this problem?
  12. Per Mike at CNC Software, I tried a repair install of Mastercam. No help. All it did was mess with some of my config settings (which I now have memorized). I also found a new problem. I was going to try a repair installation of Solidworks, but my SolidWorks Installation Manager no longer works. I was on the phone with SW tech support for 2-1/2 hrs. before we ended up doing another rollback to before MCFSW was installed. This fixed the MC thumbnail issue, SolidWorks startup issue and hosed Firefox again for some reason. Re-installed FF but I still have the SW IM issue. At least for now I can use SW and MC to get caught up on some work, but I have to get this SW IM issue fixed before I can do any SW updates. Still working with SW tech support on this. Thanks guys for the advice to un-check MCFSW from the Add-ins to speed up SW loading, but at this point I have lost so much time messing with this issue, it's unlikely that I will be doing any more with MCFSW in this release. If a simple uninstall can cause this many problems, I won't be installing it again any time soon.
  13. I recently upgraded to X9 from X6 and decided to see how Mastercam for Solidworks looks so I installed it. After playing with it for a while, I decided that it slowed down Solidworks way too much for my taste and I have 3 releases of new features to catch up on with the standalone X9, so I uninstalled MCFSW. Everything seemed to go well except that now when selecting to view icons in Windows Explorer or Mastercam file open, the thumbnails for the part files are no longer there. All you see is the X9 logo for each X9 file icon. Since I often use this feature to find old parts visually when I can't remember the part number, the loss of this feature is a real problem for me. All other thumbnails, including those for Solidworks files are still visible. Just my Mastercam files have this problem. I spoke to Tom at CNC Software about this and he didn't know what the problem was. I didn't make the connection to the uninstall of MCFSW until after I hung up with him and it was tool late to call him back about it. I read up a bit about thumbnails and seems that it's up to each piece of software to generate its own. I figured that once MCFSW was installed, it took over responsibility from the standalone X9 install for generating the thumbnails for X9, and once I uninstalled it, it took away from both. I decided to try rolling back Windows to the day before I uninstalled MCFSW and the thumbnails returned! Woohoo! I figured that my troubles were over......until I tried launching Firefox. No go. After messing with that for 3 hours, I ended up re-installing Firefox and everything was OK, except that Windows/Solidworks still thought MCFSW was there again, so I uninstalled it AGAIN. Well, guess what happened to my MC thumbnails? Gone. I thought I'd throw this out there to see if anybody else had this problem before I go around and around again. Any ideas?
  14. UPDATE- FIXED: Found solution here: http://www.emasterca...p#entry841948 (post #6) I had to stop and restart the Hasp loader service on the host computer. It now works fine. Thanks Cjep!
  15. Running X6 here with Nethasp. Just replaced my old Cradlepoint MBR900 router with a Cradlepoint MBR95. I have 2 PCs on the network and both work fine with the new network. The machine with the Nethasp on it still runs MC just fine, but my other machine on the network won't any more (gives SIM not found error). It worked fine before I switched router. All other network funcions and Internet work fine on both machines. Checked settings on NHaspX.exe on problem PC and it is setup for Nethasp, network, just like before. What could be the trouble here? This king of thing only happens on weekends or after 5PM, so I can't call my reseller.
  16. UPDATE- FIXED! Just got off the phone with Jack at Sierra CAD/CAM. All I had to do was run nhaspx.exe on the host machine and set it to "local" (it was set to "network"). On the satellite machine, it should be (and was) set to "network". I know this was the way I set it up, but somehow, it got changed. I'm the only one who uses these computers, so how did it get changed? Evil spirits? Hmmmm. Many thanks to Jack!
  17. UPDATE: I just tried posting to a setup sheet on the other machine on the network (not the one that the HASP is plugged into) and it worked fine. I then tried it on the host machine and it still gives the error message.
  18. Not yet. Of course this problem only happens after 5PM and on weekends. I'm going to call them today when they open. I called Cimco about it last time it happened and they said it was not anything they could do anything about because Mastercam licenses the copy you get with Mastercam.
  19. I am running an existing installation of X6 with NETHASP, using Mastercam-licensed CIMCO editor on Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. Occasionally, when posting or creating a setup sheet, the machine waits about 30 seconds and then gives the error message: "Mastercam Hasp not found!" The HASP is right there where it has always been (on the same machine) and MasterCAM opens just fine. I have searched the forum for this problem and everybody says the same thing: "just copy your nethasp.ini file into the CIMCO folder". This does not solve the problem. Neither does re-booting the machine or moving the NETHASP to a different USB port. Neither does setting my Norton Anti-Virus to exclude CIMCOedit.exe or nethasp.ini. Anoybody have a real solution to this problem?
  20. I just got around to upgrading from X3 to X6. So far I am really happy because all of my bugs I hated in X3 seem to be gone. I really like the new operations interface. One thing I notice now is that on each operation description line in the Operations Manager (the one with the folder icon) there is now WCS and T-plane info. This wasn't there in both my installs of X3. Although it's kind of nice to see that info, it makes that line much longer and I have to widen the Operations Manager window quite a bit wider to read it all. This cuts into my graphics area on one of my installs where I use an older 3:5 monitor. Since I have never installed X4 or X5, I don't know if this is a new feature or something that can be turned off somewhere. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  21. Thank you very much. Works great now. Couldn't see the little xxxx at first until I changed the color, then they stuck out like a sore thumb. Sometimes it takes a younger pair of eyes.
  22. I am trying to create a custom tool profile for a small single-point thread mill. I've managed to do this several times in the past, but when I select the file with the profile, I get a warning message that says "Problems with custom tool file or data". I've checked the chain for gaps and different Z levels and all the usual stuff, but Mastercam (X3) won't let me use it. I've even tried it with and without the centerline. Makes no difference. Any ideas here? File is attached. THREADMILL SCT SPTM-098L .MCX
  23. Destiny Raptor DVH. I use these all the time. They are the best endmills I have ever used. Rough & finish with the same tool. They come with or without corner radii. 1/8" is the smallest size they make. I use these all the time in SST and P20. I needed an endmill for prototype work that wouldn't blow up in the middle of a part. I tried these a few years ago and like them better than anything I've tried. Way cheaper than SGS Z-carb too. 24. Try a Skimerator. Way more effective than conventional skimmers and it also aerates your coolant to prevent anaerobic bacteria. I have used disk, belt and tube type skimmers and the same thing always happens. They work for a while, then get all gunked up and stop working. The Skimerators are about $400 and worth every penny. You will end up paying about $200 anyway for a good quality conventional skimmer that only does half the job. Here is the website: http://www.design-mfg.net/Skimerator/Skimerator.htm
