  1. Can't you rotate your proram at the machine console? Most Conversational controllers allow transformations and datum shifts. If you are just trying to rotate the geometry file use X form -rotate in your main menu toolpath
  2. I have tried updating again twice, Perhaps I will try again.
  3. This is killin me. I got this slick new tool (x) that I'm getting pretty comfortable with but I can't use it yet to post. So I have to go back and run everything out of V9...bummed. What I don't get is my V9 works fine but when I updated it doesn't work right and when I do a file compare there are no differences that i can pick out.
  4. Yes, Radius, break at quads and XY plane
  5. Obvious to me that is! I am trying to get better at editing posts but it is like learning a foreign language to me. I look at the post editer and don't know where to start! Maybe I'm getting too old....I want just take a second to thank everyone for all that they share here. I have learned a wealth of info here by reading and listening to you all. I find it fasinating and can't seem to get enough. I deal mostly with small detailed models and molds, down to .005 dia. ball end mills. So I mostly sit on the sidelines and listen to everyone. I would like to go back to school or find some classes where I can learn 5-axis so I can expand my horizens. Just have to get up off my butt and do it I suppose. Thanks again everyone.
  6. OK, So I feel like a total failure. I have been working on this a couple of weeks to no avail. My V9 edited Heidanhein ISO post works fine. Just outs R arcs. My updated X post out puts R and I,J, arcs. My machine Mikron vcp and TNC control don't support I,J,K . There are no conversion errors that I can see and I don't see anything in the CD files that looks wrong. The updated X post just sticks an occasional I,J arc move in file which stops me dead. What should I be looking for in the post? All the obvious stuff is dde selected.
  7. Ted, That's all I use Rhino into MasterCam. Export as iges, use the IGES type, "default" settings, and bump your your tolerences up. Ver 9 In master do Files>convert>iges>read file/ from where you stored it, usually data folder
  8. I will look into that, Thanks. I had done some stuff with that path in the past but got away from it. I think I get too comfortable with what I'm doing at the present time sometimes. You know? You find something that works and don't bother looking further..
  9. Nothing will get you as fine a finish on circular paths... They are more intensive and I usually run them on the overnight programs, but I deal more with very small intricate molds and need clean surfaces and finishes that can't easily be finished by hand. I have a dual proccessor so I don't worry so much about the large files. Everyone seems to have their prefs anyway, all ways experimenting and teaking makes for learning curves that make us better programmers.
  10. Parallel step finish is good, but don't over look constant scallop as a nice finishing path, especially on rounded or curved Z surfaces with ball end mills. very nice path, have done some nice intricate sufaces with smaller than .015 dia ball mills. Rough the best way, usually pocket or rough paralle. You will need to experiment a little anyways with your parts. Just keep those filter and arc tolerances up there for good finishes. small stepovers, high spindle speeds and med to slower feeds for tight surfaces.
  11. As far as collisons, Can't you use a safty zone? Then you have no worries. Or you can set backplot to show hold.
  12. Your right, It was updated correctly as it did convert it over as sextnc I. Where do I find it in the CD settings? I have posted a program by changing the ext to .I from .NC and then answering no to using the CD settings in the dialog box.
  13. Thanks I'll give it a shot!
  14. O.K. So is there a way to change the file extention? I have tried a few things, but it all ways out puts .NC . I even ran my ISO V9 post thru the post process and it looked like it might work, it out put the .I , but when I retried it changed it back to .NC
  15. I failed to mention that I'm trying to update to X also. So far so good but for that glitch that makes it unusable for me right now.
  16. Just the extension is different, same code
  17. Hello gods of wisdom, I have been trying to update by C-Hook my V9 iso post for a Heidenhain TNC 426 controller. I have tred converting ( updating) my customised post and my default heid -I post. The conversion seems succesful but only out puts NC programs and not the ISO format that I need. Any help?
