I will try to explain further ... In step 1. you create letters ( 1a. or fonts ) and then project them onto your solid or surfaces your created ( 1.b ) In step 2. you create surfaces from your solid ( 2.a ) then trim the surfaces to your letters or fonts using their wireframes ( 2.b) you then create solid sheets ( 2.c ) from the trimmed surfaces you made from your letters or fonts. Then you thicken the sheets to the desired heights and direction you wish ( 2.d) I hope that helps explain myself better. I don't have time to make a video today, if you need more help I could make one in the future.

Well, What's been working for me is.... I started to uncheck the associative box in the view manager for each new view. Also I never associate view with the creation geometry. Unless I absolutely have too. Ever since I started doing that I pretty much never get dirty toolpaths unless I change something in the parameters. Even when opening and closing the file or changing construction planes. Hope this helps...

or....... You could do it this way. In c:mcamx2milltools there is a default file called holder.mcx that mcam uses when simulating and backploting if you draw your toolholder and or quill and name it holder7in.mcx or holder2in.mcx and save the file in that directory you can change these files to holder.mcx when you need a different style and change it back when you don't. Hi Elmo, I was getting the same error I think the file became corrupt ....my work around was this: If you have permission to edit your mcam files. You can do what I did... Look in the folder that the error pointed to and delete toolfilt.prm and when you reopen Mastercam I believe the mcam program makes a new toolfilt.prm. If your worried about deleting it move it to your desktop. The error should go away and everything should still work fine.
