  1. In backplot, I get invalid arc error after applying highfeed settings. Without highfeed it backplots fine. Any ideas? (Mill X2 MR1)
  2. We have a xxxxor 8055M on our router and it seems to work fine. Have not had a problem with it in the 5yrs since it was new other than replacing a communication card under warranty and replacing a hard disk. Don't know much about Fanuc so I can't compare the two, though.
  3. Eric, At the control, Tables Tool Offsets is a table of pivot lengths. The values change after doing a toolset off the touch pad or they can be manually changed. HTH
  4. At the control: Main Menu + Diagnosis Configuration Software Config Installed Options You should see TCP in the list HTH
  5. I'd like to know the fix also. Every once in a while I get a Z move in 1 or 2 lines, but have been able to just edit it out and move on.
  6. Every once in a while I get an error at the control because it posts out a Z value along with the XYIJ values for some reason. I can delete the Z value and move on, though. I don't see what it doesn't like about that line though.
  7. I started out with a 2D Contour toolpath using a named view/plane, then had to rotate the geometry slightly. How do you rotate named views/planes to follow the geometry? My first attempt was to rotate the geometry, then re-create the named planes using that geometry, but it didn't work. In other words when in the new named view and selecting Z points on that geometry, they are not all the same Z. I've done this before in v9, but don't know what I'm doing wrong here. There's got to be a simple way. Please help!
  8. Thanks, I had not looked there yet. The Coolant box isn't checked and there are no asterisks. When I check it and open up the box, Flood, Mist and Thru-tool all set to OFF.
  9. Where are all the places you can turn coolant off? I don't need coolant, but have random ops that post out with coolant on. Right now I have 4 Curve5ax operations. The 3rd one turns coolant on and then off M8/M9. Sometimes it's M7/M9 and I don't know where it's coming from.
  10. Colin I also had very similar gouges with splines and X2 curve5ax, but at the time thought it was bad geometry from an imported model. My quick solution was break the splines at midpoint and rechain. It may or may not work in your case, but would be quicker than what you went through. HTH Hope these issues get fixed soon
  11. I use Curve 5-Axis with Lines for tool axis control a lot. In X2, I've found 2 problems. 1. After creating a new toolpath, if I go back to Geometry/Lines there is a quick flash of the arrows and they are gone. I can't tell which lines are selected. If I restart it's OK. 2. If I select or un-select lines, then go back to Geometry/Lines (after regen), not all of the arrows will show. Again it's a guess as to which lines are selected. After restart it seems OK. Eight lines are selected in this example below, even though only 5 arrows are shown. Kind of spooky sending something out to the machine when you can't see which lines are controlling the spindle orientation. Has anyone else seen this with X2 or is it just me?
  12. I understand exactly what you want and it's not available as far as I know. This was close, so I threw it out there. Sorry it wasn't useful.
  13. quote: I would like to be able to pick an operation on the screen and have the operation on the ops. manager highlight. Not exactly what you're after, but you can right-click in the toolpath manager, Display Options and check the boxes under Highlight Geometry. Then you can click on an operation and it will highlight all the geometry used in that toolpath whatever color you choose. HTH
  14. I use comments on every toolpath also. Don't know if it's a bug or not, but when I click twice on an operation to change the comments all I get is the dull yellow highlight box and it won't let you change the text. It only works if I stretch the toolpath manager window or move the slider at the bottom to where you can see the end of the comments.
  15. Has anyone come across any used 5-axis routers with double 5ft x 5ft tables (or larger) and 42 to 48-in Z-axis? We are looking at adding another router and I need to see if there might be something used worth considering. Thanks for your help.
  16. No, the E key will expand everything, but won't collapes all the ops. The only way I can reliably collapse the ops is to individually click on each "-" sign. ????
  17. After messing around with this some more, I found that if I expand all ops, save the file, close it and open it back up everything works as it should. But if I save with all or some of the ops collapsed, it doesn't work when opened up again. buggy
  18. Mass expand works through right click on the group itself. Mass collapse does not. I can do this: quote: Right click on Group/Collapse-everything collapses But when I do this the ops are still exanded: quote: Left click on + for the GROUP the Group expands but the ops are still collapsed
  19. John, that stinks, there is mass expand/collapse in 8, 9 and X.
  20. That's what I mean...it doesn't work. I can expand and collapse the group, but not the operations unless I click on "+" or "-" for each individual operation.
  21. How do you get all operations to collapse? Collapse in the right-click menu just collapses the group, but all operations stay expanded. The E key does the same thing. Anyone else seeing this in X2?
  22. Never mind...it works great if edit the file in the mcamx2 folder instead of mcamx . No wonder it didn't change anything. I'll give myself a couple of these
  23. Thanks for all the quick replies. I just tried out printscreen and screen/to clipboard with no crashing! I'll check out gadwins and snag-it too.
  24. I have an old TNT-ScreenCapture program that works great, but every time I take a screenshot in X2 it crashes. The .bmp image is saved fine, but without fail X2 shuts down and the Windows "send/don't send error report" box comes up. Is anyone else seeing this? Is there a fix or maybe a better way to save a screenshot in X2? Thanks for your help!
