  1. i believe you ahve to make your settings the defaults to load when you start up. I had this problem to and i had to go into the machine def or the other one and set them to be the main defaults myself. ViperCNC
  2. Yet i see nothing about making the Operations Manager movable like the buttons, why are they so adamant about not making this an option, and the bar at the bottom of the screen, the one i dont use. I just dont get it. ViperCNC
  3. thanks i did a search for art and found nothing that is why i ask.
  4. Just wondering if anyone is using Art for anything, i would like to do some personal stuff like the fish they show in the whats new video, but have no clue how art works, so i was wondering if anyones got any insight on this. ViperCNC
  5. i didnt try the system restore i spent 8 hours yestarday reconfiguring mr2, when i opened a new file and let it pick the machine def it came up with some of my orginal settings but i still had to go in and change little stuff like turn the coolant on so i dont have to do that every time i start a new operation. for some reason i still cant get my toolbar and key mapping to stay the way i placed them. i have the mtb file from mr1 and when i go in and select it the go back but when i save it into the settings and reopen X it just goes back. I didnt see the option to migrate when i installed mr2. And i installed it where it wanted to be installed, where ever the default names place it. Think im just going to have to call the retailer and have them walk me thru it.
  6. i was reading some other posts and came across this "migration utlity" for the mr2. i didnt get that is there a special place i got to go to run this or cus i didnt get this option when i did the install. ViperCNC
  7. my retailer told me which files to cpoy and save into a backup folder and those are the ones i am trying to use but X just errors out and wont use them. the only one i have gotten to work is the tool bar state one, but it wont save it as a default so i have to load that file everytime i start up X. and now my alt+ keys are different too, so i am pretty much starting over trying to get it back to where i had it, thanks mastercam for wasting my day.
  8. I have tried twice now to install mr2; the first time it did a side by side install and when i opened it none of my settings or post or any of the previous stuff i had was converted over to mr2, so now i did a uninstall and then reinstalled it with the option of getting rid of mr1. but once again nothing came over and i tried the backup file trick and the only back up file that worked was where my button icons where placed. So im wondering now that mr1 is gone do i just start over since my control defs machine defs and post and everything is all messed up or what... if you can shed light on this im listening ViperCNC
  9. that part i've got, but what i need is what font i currently have on the screen. i need to know what font that it. i dont know what font i used on this project the last time i did it. ViperCNC
  10. I am trying to figure out what font i used on a project in V9 so i can duplicate it again on the new version of this part. The problem i am having is how do i find out what font i used in V9. I did this once b4 but can't figure out how to come up with the correct font. Help..... ViperCNC
  11. Thank you Thank you, little things like that drive me nuts. Thanks again for all the help eveyone. ViperCNC
  12. When i open a part, I now get all my toolpaths displayed when it opens up. I can get rid of them by doing the ALT-T to "Toggle toolpath display for selected operations", but i dont know what i selected in the setting to make this all of a sudden start happening. So what im looking for is what do i need to change to get this from happening? ViperCNC
  13. Just want to Diddo the ops turning dirty for no apparent reason. And every now and then when i move the cursor to the part window the focus stays in the tool manager window and if i hit the comma button i belive it delets the selected ops, not a real handed feature considering i needed those ops. more time does need to be spent on cleaning up X and less on getting more bells and wistles that'll work just xxxx half-a$$ed as the current features. but whata ya do, they'll do what they think is better for us, like not making the tool manager moveable. ViperCNC
  14. on the back of the machine or near the oil drain (where the oil goes into the plastic bottle) there is a bunch of screws near the drain nozzle. first try -there are 2 tiny holes in that plate behind the plastic jug, cover one with your finger and blow a little air thru the other and then tty the other. otherwise you have to take those screws off and theres what they call an ant farm. Its a series of back and forths in there and if one of those passages gets plugged in send every thing one way. mine sends the oil into the coolant tank cleaned it a couple times but still doesnt work that great. I have a VF2SS so on your mini mill it might be a hair different but looking at all the Haas's i kinda doubt it. If you need a little more help i can take pictures and send them to you but if it doesnt look like i kinda discribed then you might have to give your distrbutor or Haas's 800 number a try. ViperCNC
  15. Well that does do a much better job explaining WCS then what i just typed. Got anymore of those or a location were to get them. ViperCNC
  16. Think of it as set a new X Y and Z locations, for example if you have a 2d part one that needs machining on front and back or top and bottom, however you want to look at it. when you start you will probably position the part so the orgin is in the corner of the rough stock. but when you flip the part to finish it you may not be able to use that same point to locate off of. As in mulitpart applications its nice to have a orgin hole in say a fixture. So heres what i do on a new level draw 2 lines one for X and one for Y on the part where you would like the XYZ orgin to be on the 2nd side or OP. Open your WCS and select the Geometry tab on the left and then select the 2 lines you have created for your new orgin point. The first line you select will be the X axis and the second being the Y. It will display this for you and if dont display the axis like youd like them click the left and right arrows and it will flip the axes around and around, then click ok. I believe after you click OK you will then have the option to label the new XYZ location and this will show up in your WCS when you open it. Go to an isometric view and see if the part is sitting in the position and view you would like. Other then that the prgramming is the same, OH and i would create another Toolpath group for the new WCS and toolpaths your about to create. Helps keep things seperate, clean and organized. I use to create a whole new program for every time i had to flip a part but after i got WCS's figured out life is much more simple ande efficent. Now if i could just figure out this 5 axis stuff, well off to school i go for that. Hope this helped, ViperCNC-Ryan
  17. thanks, anyone know what it would roughly cost to have one made or modified?
  18. Does anyone happen to be using mastercam x and a 5axis haas with trunnion table or the ec-500 horizontial(ec-400 would work to i suppose)? Ordered one of each and was wondering if theres any work involved in the posts to get it functioning properly. I heard the post for 5 axis arent premium. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  19. Does anyone know if its possible to detach the operations manager in X? Or if there working on that for one of the next service packs?
  20. In V9 mine would mahince all pockets then jump around and do spring passes. i had to do them individualy if i want it to finish each pkt spring passes and all. Havent tryed X yet.
  21. WOW, thanks for the help fellas. Can anyone say how many cnc's or piping roughly you have running through your shops, or how big your shops are. I will be looking in the back of that book, and doing all the ideas and suggestions you guys mentioned. I take ever comment into consideration, and will be showing the BIG GUYS your comments in helping aid us in this process. Any body know of any compresser dealers in the Minnesota area, say around Minneapolis.St Paul area. Thanks
  22. I was asking as a general question, using average number or rough number, but i pulled some number for ya, no misters, couple machines at 4cfm and a couple at 9cfm all @ 100 psi. as for what type im not sure dont know a hole lot about this, what ever would do the best job i suppose. Dryer would be nice, again i am short of knowledge there too. Wall or celing, prolly all over the place, lol. I liked italian's answer for its simplicity and crazy's for its in depthness(going the extra mile), so both helpful replys. Any websites, or places know to purchase the items. Per say your ingersoll one. I think 3k is resonable for a industrial style compress, wtih all the feature you were discussing. thanks a bunch, and keep it flowing,
  23. I am looking for an industrial air compress to run 3 cnc mills and a shop of air hoses, and what not. With the ability to add say 5 more cncs, and larger shop space. I have had most of my questions answered here with out needing to post, but this question seems to be on its own. I have searched for answers and come up short. If you guys can give me a rough idea of what you have for compressors, and what your running off of it, maybe where you can get them or a good place to get an air compressor that'd be great.
