As I look at this print, it is drawn by hand in 1983. It is NOT a cad print. I can only scan it and post it as a picture. The info is there, but this print is drawn for the lathe. I will post it later and someone can tell me if they can help.

So if I were to post the print, someone could help me, that would be outstanding. I will have it tomorrow.

I have not been here for some time. 4 years to be exact. My work has been the same old stuff day in and day out. Now I have this job that is 3D but cant figure out how to make it. The print is 20 years old and drawn to be made on a lathe. They made a ring on the lathe and cut the parts out of the ring. Now they would like me to make this and it appears to be 3D. I'm getting no help at work. Im the smartest guy on CNC and I cant do it. Is this the right forum if I want to post the picture or should I try some other forum.

I just stopped in to see what all the fuss is in the Haas user thread, seeing that I AM a user........of the Haas widgety thingy mabob. One of my favorite tools that the Haas has.

You guys are great. Unfortunatly I cant open them in the limited mc I have at home. The part is round obviously, and the form you see is in 4 places equ distance around the part.

I am trying to draw this in solids.

I have a file (solid help.mcx) in MCX directory. I need to have the solid form to be within the dia's drawn. Not sure how to do this.

YES. only with MC. And yes, we did just upgrade MC. I will check on all of that.

What windows do you mean? We entered the code and updated to Level 3 MR2. What else is there?

We got a new computer recently(which is great) but about 6 days ago, everytime I open MC, a menu says the authentication period runs out in 14 days, and counting down. Now we have 8 days left.

What are we missing?

I got the part aboout using containment to limit the toolpath.Tool steel. What would you use to rough and finish and what toolpaths? I only ask cause you have done this so much longer than me.

OK. I got that. Now how do you toolpath it without going all the way down the dia, just do the top form?

Why did you offset the lines and what menu diod you use to cut thru the dia?

OK, I really need some training here. This is hard to pick up with no class.
