  1. Has anyone found an answer as to why it takes so long to open the 2D or high-speed operation menus? I searched and found this thread, seems like the same problem I'm having. I'd be happy with a 2-3 second delay. After rebooting the computer, I might have a 3-5 second delay. But after using it for a little while, it'll take up to 30 seconds!
  2. I checked that and I do have all permissions.
  3. I'm trying to use the newest X2 Mr1 Sp1 version. When I try to generate path, I get "warning - error opening c:mcamx2-mr1commontmpedg1.tmp" I searched through old posts and found that I need read and write permissions, which I do. Does anyone have any other ideas?? Thanks.
  4. Thanks Mark. I have used Flowline through Mastercam, and it does work. I was just curious if anyone else uses Cimco and can find a helical option in there.
  5. Cimco works with Mastercam. I use Cimco to generate tool paths for high speed milling in hardened steel. All the surfaces and boundaries are in Mastercam like usual. For electrodes, we just use Mastercam. But for steel, we use Cimco. We get to it through a C-hook. It still shows toolpaths in Mastercam when you backplot or verify it, just like a step generated in Mastercam would. It is also posted through Mastercam. It just seems to be better for our tooling with more built in lead-ins and ramps, when cutting steel. I just can't figure out how to helical mill with it. It works fine contouring it, but I'm just looking for a little faster way.
  6. I'm trying to mill a hole 2" deep and it's drafted all the way down. If I use contour to do this, it ramps down the stepdown amount and then does a flat bottom pass at that Z level. Is there a way to mill a continuous ramp (helical) from top to bottom? Hope that's more clear. Thanks. Dennis
  7. Is there a way to helical mill a tapered pocket using cimco?? Thanks!

  9. I searched and found my answer. Thanks.
  10. I just started using Mastercam X and I'm having a problem merging files. The files merge, but the color of the surfaces always changes to red, and I'm not able to change them after it's merged. If I analyze the surface, it says it's the right color, but it's not. It's like the color won't clear, but that button doesn't work either. I'm sure it's something easy I'm missing. Any ideas??? Thanks!
