  1. I am running X2mr2 and have mold plus but when i try to open a R18 file I get an error message saying that R18 is not supported. Why is this? Thanks
  2. JP, My tolerence is at .008 and it shuts down trying to pull up an stl of the first position.
  3. JP, Thanks for the help I think that I got it to work, but it seems that every time i goto verify any of my toolpath mastercam is having fatal errors and needs to shut down or it just locks up. Any suggestions?
  4. I just put a file on the cadcam's ftp with surfaces the represent what i am doing. The blue surface is my finish for the pocket and the fusia surface is my forging. I am trying to use a 2" iscar plunge mill and rough net +.05 thanks sorry the file is called plunge surfaces in the X3 files folder
  5. I am trying to plunge mill a pocket in a forging. So i tell it what the drive and check surfaces are then select the grid. On the grid i select the left lower corner of the pocket and the right upper corner of the pocket. The toolpath that it gives does not appear to be correct. Now my questions are is this possible, how describe the stock beside my stock setup, and am I selecting the grid correctly? I would post it on the FTP but I am not allowed to do so. Thanks again
  6. Is there a tutorial or demo on plunge milling anywhere. I looked through the documentation files and didn't find anything, but I may have just overlooked it. I also searched the topic and tried some of the things discussed, with poor results. So I think I am missing something and just need to read a breakdown of what it is asking for. Thanks in advance

  8. I have created a solid model of a forging in mastercam and selected it as my stock. When i go to verify i get a message about polygons not being watertight. Why is this? Is this solid considered an STL? Thanks for the help in advance
  9. I am backploting and can get the A axis to simulate but can not get the B axis to simulate. This is using gen5ax.pst on a trunnion style machine.
  10. I am using X2mr2 with a 5axswarf. Iwant to backplot the tool path with the rotary axis moving instead of the tilt axis. Is this possible? Thanks
  11. Can anyone tell me if The mastercam editor in X2mr2 can do simple math funtions. Such as adding 1. to all X values. Thanks in advance
  12. Jim that is what is happening it is changing to G92 in the operation and I have to go back and change all my operations to G54.
  13. I am helping a friend program a fadal and everytime I start a new operation it is defaulting to G92 and not G54. In control definition it has a 2 in the misc.integer screen which is G54. Can anyone tell me what is happening? Also he programs to the edge of the cutter and runs full diameter comp. Is there a way to do this in MC? Thanks in advance

  15. I just tried to use the ref point and it put it in but it also put in a G28 U0. W0. and this is what I am wantig to change. Sorry if I was not clear but I am wanting this as my tool change position Somthing like this Z1.9505 G1 X11.5048 X1.41 Z2.0479 X1.4807 Z2.0832 M9 G0 X15. Z10.   16. I am trying to edit my Generic Fanuc 2x lathe pst. to output G0 X15. Z10. on tool changes. Can someone point me where to change it and what to change it to. Thanks in advance
  17. We have had the same problem on our trunnion. and our programs are have tons of info in them. Our post is only set to post put out F1999. in G93 mode, but if we turn feed override up it starts going away. Another question is where did you guys get your post. We are use a generic 5 axis post from v9 disk and we are not so good at editing to make it do what we want.
  18. The parts we cut require small diameter cutters. Ex. Most roughing done with 3/8" no rad, .5 loc, 1.3 stickout, 4fl custom steel grind carbide. Right now we are cutting at 2200Rpm about 220sfm and .0035 chip load which is about 2 hrs of roughing
  19. Rigidity may be the issue. The machine is a Haas VF-2SS with TR160 table on it. 12000 Rpm 833 IPM feed High speed look ahead The tooling we have made shoud be able to handle anything the machine can throw at it.
  20. I am looking for some insight on maching 1018 crs in a high speed manor. I have heard that it can be done but I do not know anything about it. Is anyone in here doing it? How are you doning it? I am just trying to find new approaches to some of the parts that we make and any information would greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  21. No we are out in Cheney behind the fairgrounds. Four or five years ago the shop I worked for built a tranny case for the baja team and I helped them out when i was was taking classes. They really get in depth with that car. You can have them give us a call and we can set a time to meet with them or even do what we can over the phone.
  22. Mark, I had a repair man in my shop yesterday talking about you. He spoke very highly of you and said we should go you to NAIR sometime and BS with you.
  23. Cobra, If I remember right watch the tool change position and home return comands That post gives you a G53 Z0 which will put your cutter in the table or part. I will look at my post and try to see if I changed anything else.
  24. I have a 5 axis post I am trying to use. I don't know if it is a version 9, or X. All that I know is it has a .txt, .pst, and a .psb file. I want to be able to use it in X2MR1, can any one tell me what files I need to put where or why it is not updating properly? Thanks, Matt
