  1. Hey everyone, I am doing a 2" wide by 3" deep groove. I want to slow the feed and speed down when it has full width of the cutter. Then raise it up for the rest of the paths that do not use full width. Can you do this in mc or do you have to manually do it in the program. Thanks for any help.
  2. Thanks Chris!! We found out that feed hold will allow this to happen. We are still figuring this machine out.
  3. Thanks for the help. I found that the generic fanuc post works well and with some edits should work great. Thanks again.
  4. Can someone help? I have programed to use a tool as a locator for my material. Tool comes to position programed to unchuck slide the material now the machine will not chuck and stay in mem mode. To close thew chuck I am going to manual then the program is back at the beginning. Can anyone point me in the right direction. Thanks in Advance
  5. We just bought a Haas Sl-30 and a vf-2 w/tr160 trunnion and I am trying to set up machine and controls defs for them. I am working on the lathe right now but it won't let me define the components. Needless to say I am confused and do not know where to start. Any help would be great. Thank in advance
  6. Thanks for your help guys! I still have been able to find one so my quest will continue maybe even modeling it myself. Thanks for your input
  7. HI everyone. We have purchased a VF-2SS with TR160 trunion and I am wanting to know where I can find a model of this table or if anyone has one. Thanks, Matt [ 02-09-2007, 06:32 PM: Message edited by: RACINGCONVERTERS ]
  8. Heavy, I just got auto gauging on my Okuma a couple months ago. Which probing package does it have. Okuma has three options auto gauging, manual gauging and auto/manual gauging. If you let me know what you want to do I may be able to scan some of the manual that tells you how to do it.
  9. Sorry I tried a search to no prevail. Then read a current post on two computers and I think it is answering my transfering machine def. and post ?. Sorry
  10. Happy New Year! I am wanting to know how I can transfer my machine defs. and my posts from my desk top to my laptop. Can anyone tell me the easiest way to get this done. Also can anyone tell me if the mc post cd has a post hatachi(sp) seiki lathe. Thank in advance
  11. Thanks everybody I changed the WCS and it all worked great. Thanks again
  12. I have a round part that has a 5/16" keyway and 90 degrees to the keyway a taper pin hole. I used top view and WCS to do the keyway. For the taper pin hole I made a copy of the front WCS and programed the hole in top view, but when I post I am not getting any "A" rotation. Can anyone get me pointed in the right direction? Using Mpokuma.pst updated from version9.1mr2 Thanks in advance.
  13. Chris, My boss is not liking how loose the bolt feels going into the hole on 2b hole is there any way Ican get the hole to feel tighter.
  14. Thank alot Chris you have been a big help.
  15. The material is 7075-T6 and maybe 1018 later. It is a thru hole about .525 deep. I was told to run 50-90 sfm which seems way fast. Another question is that if I speed the tap up do I need to raise the start point so that the spindle reaches full speed before entering the hole.
  16. Hi, I finally have taken everyones advice here and purchased some roll form taps. The only problem is I have never used them and do not know what kind of speeds and feeds to run. Can any of you point me in the right direction? Okuma mcv-4020, Rigid tap, Valenite tapping holder, 5/16-24 thread, 7.45mm drill, rapid to .1 above the hole. Thank you all for your help.
  17. Jeff, At the top of the hole it is around .580 and at the bottom is around .500 and the material is 1018 hot roll. Surface, That is a great idea but unfortunatly our shop does not have a manual mill. thanks for your input so far!
  18. Hi everyone, I have recieved a repeat order of parts that requires a #9 taper pin hole. The last time I ran these it took me 20 minutes to ream the hole on my okuma mcv4020. It was drilled with a 25/64" drill and reamed to fit a premanufactured #9 taper pin that is around 4" long using a G83 peck cyle at .05 pecks. It was the my first time doing any thing of this nature and I did not want to break my reamer. I am looking for a quicker way to do this hole. I have found taper drills but I am not sure if that is the way to go with this or even a cycle that would allow me to start the half way through the hole but retract all the way out. Any advice on how to do this hole would be a ton of help and I will be very greatful. Thanks in advance
  19. I updated the post from V9. It is MPOkuma.pst. I changed the G53 Z0. and the tap cycle to G284 both posted out. But I Could not find the anything I was willing to change without the knowledge on "A" axis.
  20. John, Thank you for your help? would you be able to help me change some other things; like the G53 Z0. command and only post "A" axis when rotationis being used. I am not real good at post editing butting the more I read on here the more it makess sense. Thanks again!
  21. Can someone help me? I have an Okuma mcv-4020 with programmable air. It turns on with an M12. So my question is can anyone explain how to make this an option under my coolant settings. Thank you in advance
  22. Thanks Everyone, I have got it going good with the the osg regular plug tap and wd-40. If i run out of these tap I have the roll form tap to use. Thank you for all your suggestions.
  23. Ron, Your right my family owned the shop where I started and was 95% aerospace. These holes are all to tool up on so all I need is a good thread. The company can not wait 10 more weeks for material to be made so I am having to improvise. TMALENA I am using G284 Jeff I also ordered a regular bottom tap wiht the roll form I will let you know more tomorrow. I picked up all the tools tonight when I got off. Thanks for everthing
  24. Thanks for all of your quick responses I have ordered drills and taps to roll form the threads. I will let you know how they are working or ask for more help. Thanks again.
  25. Steve The tap broke coming out and as much as i could tell it did not hit the bottom of the hole. As far as peck tapping can anyone help with how the code needs to read for the okuma. I looked in the topic from a few days ago and it did not show how the code should read. Thank you for all the help
