    Levels

Select SCREEN, CHG LEVELS, select the level you want to change to and make it active, then click on the geometry and it should change.
  2. It is possible, but you need mega mega mucho ITT talent or else it would not be possible, the routing of such a system would be intense nd integration would be a nightmare. I suggest you consult with a group of savvy computer geeks. At one of the shops I worked for they went completely wireless and the parent company is in Michigan and believe me it was crazy for a while! We would download to the machines and the signals would get crossed, etc. Good Luck, KLR
  3. Hey Bob, Siemens 840D is awesome but you really need to spend TIME with it to use it proficiently and understand what the control can do for you. On the other hand, your Fanuc 18i will be much better for you if you are running production with your FADAL because you can toggle around quicker and program faster on this control. But if you want to get into the hi-tech field of a siemens control good luck to you!
  4. I recently worked for a company who wouldn't supply tools necessary, like a tool post to change tools, end mills that were very expensive, and other criteria for me to handle the job. They bought this new machine and because of what they saw at another shop during finishing cuts, they expected me to do the same from roughing and finishing techniques. i tried to explain wha is what and what I needed but winded up losing the job because of their ignorance. They wanted ZIP ZIP ZIP to happen all because of what they saw at another shop for about thirty minutes. I wish owners and managers would take a REAL look at what they want to do before they quote the job and ask questions when they don't know something!

  6. Thank everyone, Looks like I have to pitch in for the training myself and I have the Volume 3 handbook on multi axis maching from Mastercam 9.1 It would be nice if they can pitch in for the training.
  7. Hey All! Can't remember WHERE to go into my computer and slow down the processing. When I chain and other stuff, I can't see my arrows because it's too fast and disappears. (And doesn't come back with Refresh screen) I remember i slowed something down in my computer but i don't remember what. Now i have a new computer and XP kicks my butt but i have changed to classic view. Any info would be of help BTW, I have some questions concerning 4 5 axis programming specifically lead angle tilt and side tilt angle in reference to ther Axis limits and point generators. Boss bought as new machine would have been nice if i got some training but NOOOOOOO! Is ther anybody i can confer with about 5 axis here? Thnx

    tooling

Wow! Thanks for jumping on this so quickly! I just wish the distributors would! LOL BTW, I am cutting renboard, woodplastic, all the model stuff. I no longer cut metal so this is different with feeds and speeds, etc. I need to reach like i said before with ball end mills of 1", metric if i can find, and the real kicker is finding smaller diameter (1/8) to clean up and finish the radius. Thanks, guys I will chase down all leads!

    tooling

I have a part that is approx 5 feet long, 5 feet wide and 8 inches tall. I have lots of surfacing to do nut i need to be able to reach 5 inches from top and cut a large area in the center of my piece between two raised areas that are 4 inchers high. my question is this: Is there a tool suplly who can sell me tooling that is relieved shank and a depth of cut of at least .625. i have been talking with tooling personnel that have extended collets and all that but i need a tool that is relieved shank so my spindle can stay above z zero and reach four to five inchers down on a surface without crashes into my piece. Also, if anyone wants to take a peek at what i am trying to accomplish, please tell me how i can upload a mc9.1 file thanks klr
