  1. Pete, your right,it may have been fixed between versions, but what I wanted to know is,in DesignLt and X2mr1,is there a reason that I have to go through and un-blank them,or is there a setting I missed either in the igs translator or maybe Mcam itself that will "autmatcally un-blank the lines and arcs upon conversion?
  2. What does "holeaxis" do?
  3. To answer all of your questions ,when you use the igs translator in MCam,you have the ability to scan the file to see if there's entities that mastercam will recognize. When I do that, there are lines and arcs that mcam recognizes, but when I go ahead and convert the file into version"x" they aren't even blanked in the file! The files I'm getting are being converted from a system called SDRC.I would also like to read these files mostly in DesignLt and that product does'nt allow you to create surfaces or even create curves on existing surfaces. And,just to be clear ,I've checked the masks and everthing is checked so they should be included!!
  4. Hey,doesn't anybody want to chime in on this one?
  5. Whenever I read an igs file into X MR1 the lines and arcs that are present( when doing a pre-conversion scan) don't show up even if I do an un-blank all entities! If I convert the same file in DesignLt Xmr2 or X2 mr1 I can un-blank the lines and arcs! So,my question is two-fold.Is there a problem in Version "X" with lines and arcs being blanked upon conversion and Is there a toggle in DesignLt XMr2 and X2Mr1 to automatically un-blank those entities on conversion?
  6. Thanks for the quick reponses,I know I can always count on you guys for answers to almost anything!! Thank god for this forum!!!More than once it has "bailed" me out of a jam!!
  7. I would like to know if anybody knows how to redirect mastercam to look in a network folder for the configs upon startup.I have many seats of Mcamx around the "toolroom" here and would like to store my "config files on a network so that no matter where I work,my settings will be applied upon startup?
  8. I'm sorry,I did'nt mean to mislead anyone,I should have said, can't convert them to solids. I'm still getting the same error bringing in an sldprt file even after re registering the dll."Cannot find parasolids data in solidworks file".As far as the regsvr32 problem, once I put in the datapath to the regsvr32.exe,I was able to register the dll file. Do I need to manually set the parameters so that a solidworks file will be converted to surfaces or will that happen automatically? Also, when we purchased designlt,we were not aware that it had a solids option.Or do you mean that the pc has a solds enabled product installed on it?I have mill9 solids on the same pc,will that work or does it have to be a version 10 product?
  9. Okay, guys, here it is in a nutshell.I had X Demo loaded as well as DesignLT-MR2,the app;et in the control panel would not work until I removed XDemo from my pc! As soon as I did that, the applet was able to re register the swdocumentmgr.dll!! Also, upon further research on the Mastercam home page,it appears that DesignLT will not convert Solidworks 2007 files.
  10. Here's what the syntax looks like, keep in mind that I am a total rookie when it comes to using "dos" D:Mcamx-MR2-DesignLTcommonsworksdata>regsvr32/u swdocumentmgr.dll 'regsvr32' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
  11. I have tried repeatedly to re register that dll by both methods to no avail. When I try to do it through dos,it tells me that regsvr32 is not recognized as a legit command. And using the applet results in an error that says, can't open registry.
  12. Do these patches work for design Lt also.I cannot get the control panel method to re register the dll file.It keeps telling me "error opening registry" I'm running winxp professional sp2 and I am a member of the admin group!!
  13. Yes,I'm behind a firewall, maybe whats happening is that I can get out through the firewall but the info coming back in is blocked somehow.Got to call my IT guy and see if there's a way to change some settings.
  14. I'll try something else tomorrow, gotta go home now!!

  20. I have tried unsuccessfully to view any files on his server.I can see where I,m logged into the server, but it times out trying to find any files on the drive. What am I doing wrong?
  21. No,we haven't done any upgrades to my knowledge and no, the path does not have more files and or sub-directories than it had last week!
  22. No,checked that, and only the one drive is showing. Thanks for the quick response!
  23. All of a sudden this week, mastercam seems to take alot longer to do a file get from our server. The server is running win nt software and has not been a problem until recently!Any ideas what could be the problem?
  24. As a sidenote, can anybody tell me where I can find a copy of the updatepst9.dll?
  25. I had another set of eyes look at what I was doing and "voila" now it is working just fine.!!! Apparently ,I should have put a copy of the old posts in the v9 post folder first, and then direct it to update that directory and that's what I hadn't done!! Thanks foe your help,Pete
