Fred,
That was a typo on my part,
I do use Mplfan for my lathe.
I geet them mixed up all the time because I use Mpmaster for my Fanuc O-M posts.
-
Yup,
It's on a good ole floppy disk.
I notified my customer and he is sending me another copy.
Thanks all.

I just tried to open a .mc7 file and it said "incompatible version numbers, run file converter".
I have mc9,what converter is it referring to?
-
Doesn't your ISP provide software for setting up your pc properly?
-
Diameter offset is the number that you are going to use for cutter comp.(D VALUE)
Length offset is the number that you will use for the length of the tool at the machine.(H VALUE)
Example for Fanuc control:
G43H1Z1.
G01G41X5.125Y2.375D41F50.

Change your email address.

That's a great idea Ying!
I was wondering if there was a C-Hook that split up files.

BAH! HUMBUG!
I gotta work!

RCHOWARD,
I am in the same crappy boat you're in.
It's about $6,000 to get DNC-B.
What a crock of SH*T!!!
My current memory limits me to running a program that is no more than 18,000 characters long.
If you find the magic word, let me know.

I fingered it out.
Did a plain rough chain instead of a groove cycle.
-
I am trying to cut a face groove with a .375 round button insert.
Using MpMaster post.
How can I turn off the cutter comp in the rough???
Why does it turn it on?
Please help part is HOT!!!!

Hey Thanks Rory!
Sometimes it's the little things that help us get stuff done more efficient.
Have one on me
-
LOL I know,it sucked big time!

My problem is that I only have level 2 and can only do 1 stupid surface at a time.
some jobs I need to do Z level roughing on multiple surfaces and it's a pain.
I have a job where there are 32 surfaces and can only do 1 at a time.
Oh think of the fun I have programming that one.
It's a good size part too,50" x 50" x 9" with a pocket that every wall is 5degree taper even the floor.
When we first received this job I only had level 1.
Very difficult to do back then!!!

I am curious as to what most of you people use for the gap motion.
Broken,Direct,Smooth,Follow Surface(s).
For some reason it will not allow me to choose the follow surface option.
I mainly use Rough and Finish Flowline for my surfacing programs, and use broken for the setting.

Thanks James,
Good answer.
I personally would love to have Mill level 3,I was just looking for some more opinions out there.
-
You do have a point Dan.
I currently have Mill level 2 with solids.
Although our shop doesn't do any mold work,we are a job shop and sometimes I need to program parts with multiple surfaces.
Don't get me wrong,I absolutely love Mastercam, but our shop cannot afford the level 3 upgrade at this time, and probably not for awhile.

Is anyone familiar with another cad/cam software called Onecnc?
It costs $3,500 and they claim it can do all of they 3D work that mastercam can do.
If anyone knows of this software, can you tell me whether I should buy that instead of upgrading to mill level 3 so I can do more than 1 surface at a time?
I feel guilty writing this on mastercam's own forum, but my boss wanted me to,so blame him.
LOL.

SBA,
What kind of Okuma is it? Mill,Lathe??
What control?
I have both an OSP5020L for my latheand an OSP700M for my mill.
My mill does not need an M05 before gear change, but my lathe does.

GHowe:
It does work for MC communications.
I suggest you do what Marc wrote and call them.
Hope you get it working.
-
Good job Bryan and THANKS!
-
Thanks BerTau.
I'll give that a whirl.

James,James,James,
What have you been smoking my friend?lol
USC was lucky to win that game.
If Iowa would have played like they did all season,USC would've had a very tough time winning.
In fact I think that Iowa would have won by two scores.
As for the national championship.....no way could they have matched up against either OSU or Miami.
I am a Michigan fan,and that Fiesta bowl was the best game I have seen in a very long time.
And,of course being a Michigan fan,I wanted Miami to win,but I am happy that the Big Ten won at least.
