  1. James,James,James,

What have you been smoking my friend?lol

USC was lucky to win that game.

If Iowa would have played like they did all season,USC would've had a very tough time winning.

In fact I think that Iowa would have won by two scores.

As for the national championship.....no way could they have matched up against either OSU or Miami.

I am a Michigan fan,and that Fiesta bowl was the best game I have seen in a very long time.

And,of course being a Michigan fan,I wanted Miami to win,but I am happy that the Big Ten won at least.

  2. Diameter offset is the number that you are going to use for cutter comp.(D VALUE)

Length offset is the number that you will use for the length of the tool at the machine.(H VALUE)

    Example for Fanuc control:

    G43H1Z1.

    G01G41X5.125Y2.375D41F50.

  3. RCHOWARD,

I am in the same crappy boat you're in.

    It's about $6,000 to get DNC-B.

    What a crock of SH*T!!!

My current memory limits me to running a program that is no more than 18,000 characters long.

If you find the magic word, let me know.

  4. My problem is that I only have level 2 and can only do 1 stupid surface at a time.

some jobs I need to do Z level roughing on multiple surfaces and it's a pain.

I have a job where there are 32 surfaces and can only do 1 at a time.

Oh think of the fun I have programming that one.

    It's a good size part too,50" x 50" x 9" with a pocket that every wall is 5degree taper even the floor.

When we first received this job I only had level 1.

Very difficult to do back then!!!

  5. I am curious as to what most of you people use for the gap motion.

    Broken,Direct,Smooth,Follow Surface(s).

For some reason it will not allow me to choose the follow surface option.

I mainly use Rough and Finish Flowline for my surfacing programs, and use broken for the setting.

  7. You do have a point Dan.

I currently have Mill level 2 with solids.

Although our shop doesn't do any mold work,we are a job shop and sometimes I need to program parts with multiple surfaces.

Don't get me wrong,I absolutely love Mastercam, but our shop cannot afford the level 3 upgrade at this time, and probably not for awhile.

  8. Is anyone familiar with another cad/cam software called Onecnc?

It costs $3,500 and they claim it can do all of they 3D work that mastercam can do.

If anyone knows of this software, can you tell me whether I should buy that instead of upgrading to mill level 3 so I can do more than 1 surface at a time?

I feel guilty writing this on mastercam's own forum, but my boss wanted me to,so blame him.

    LOL.
