If you click on the "total tolerance" button inside of restmill, you should be able to set your filter there. I don't know about the external filter.
-
I had the same problem because I had my operation defualts in a different drive (networked) than the C: I copied the new toolpaths from the C: and put them where i wanted them and all was fine

If I understand correctly, you can draw a suface over the area you don't want it to cut and use it as a check surface. The containment boundary doesn't work by letting you cut only what is on the outside, it just lets the cutter go past the boundary by the dia. of the end mill.
-
nevermind, i just tried it and it didn't work.
-
just curious, can you filter the toolpath?
-
definite withdrawl symptoms here!
-
I set it in the control definition, operation defualts, select all and edit common parameters. then set the coolant to flood.
-
peek can be brittle, and chip out on you sometimes.
-
I set my defualt in my operations to always be flood.

right click and select your auto cursor. you can then set what it automatically picks, you can turn off quadrants, mid points and center points, then it will only grab the endpoint.
-
hit the "all" button, then result.
-
if your using the transform operation, make sure it is set to maintain source operation offset.
-
i'll definitely check that!
-
hold "shift" in then click on the chain

Had a similar problem here. I think we fixed it by setting the arcs to "break at quadrants" in the control def. Seemed like sometimes the machine didn't care if the arc was broke or not, but sometimes it got lost and cut areas that it should not have.

dumb question but, is your iges file coming in the same color as your screen. try screen statistics after you run the converter.
-
the install is independent from 9. So when you get a little frustrated you can go back. I haven't had any issues with the new wire, but have been using mill x since September.
-
did you bump the "insert key" on your key board?

I sometimes run one of these machines. I had the disks go bad. Used new ones and all was fine. Had to download somestuff from the Prototrak website to make a new boot disk for it. Never tried replacing the drive though...

Can't you set the depth to "incremental" on a 2-d contour to do what you want?
-
Ok, next time it comes up I'll send it in.
thanks

Sorry, not allowed to put the file up.
It's a 3-d solid model from Pro-E. We are trying to contour using edge curves.
Seems like some of the tangent points aren't perfect. and had to make the 1.0mm endmill .005mm smaller to fit into 1.0mm dia corners.
I think X is a little more picky on these things. No big deal, the parts are still cutting right.
PS hey mman stop logging into my computer

Thad,
I tried searching "invalid arc" and came up with del's post with no responses.
We are just ignoring the alarm now because if we post the program everything is fine. I was just trying to find a better explaintion of it.
Thanks

Anyone know why we continually get an ivalid arc error in mill when we try to backplot toolpaths? Programs run fine on the machines. They are real arcs, not splines. Is there a way to turn off this alarm?
Wire post problems

anyone have any ideas why my wire post would start outputting blank G1 lines? I've been using this post since January. I had to edit the machine and control def yesterday for file paths because our network drive was changed but can't find anything that would have caused this.
