  1. could be a bunch of factors. try a typical FANUC-16T. that one works most of the time for me when sending 411 to a machine/Fanuc. if it is still not communicating, then odds are, ur pin configs on the RS232 are incorrect.
  2. Aloha muchachos! ok, here is the project: we have some 1/8" thick Tantalum blanks, 7" x 11" rectangle. we are need to use a slot mill, a REALLY THIN slot mill to cut some REALLY shallow grooves in the plate. basically a criss-cross design if u will that is gonna run across the whole plate. grooves are going about .03-.04 deep. The blanks are gonna be held in a vacuum-like tombstone. now, can ANYBODY give us a start point as to what we can expect from this stuff etc. i did some research on this stuff and its pretty titanium like. anybody familiar with cutting this stuff? thanks in advance! -R.
  3. Groovy! i just used the Rolldie C-hook application, but the tool wants to cut more or less a 270-360 degree arc. the arc we are cutting is only 180°? any ideas how to adjust this? thanks again! -R.
  4. Have u Drilled the hole already? theory goes, well at least from what i learned, u want a reamer to follow a hole. so, double the feed rate of what u ran ur drill and divide the RPMs of what u ran that drill in half. works great for me. hope this helps. -R.
  5. Hey y'all, when performing a rotary cut, such as a J-slot, on a 4th Axis, under the toolpath parameters, what is the simplest way to get a good toolpath? i have a 3-D model so should i use "unroll"? also, under the "Rotary Axis" tab, what is the value of "Rotary Diameter" representing? thanks in advance guys. -R.
  6. yes Mr. Paris, its an inside thing, thats all.
  7. Dear Fellow Mastercam users, due to a misunderstanding between myself and the Mastercam wholesalers, i send out a sincere apology. in no way does my above comment, (A CRAPPY POST), reflect on the work ethic or the relationship between us and the wholesalers. as again, it was a complete misunderstanding. so again, i apologize. U know who u r chapete. thanks for the input guys!!!
  8. look Crazy Millman, if u didnt have anything productive to say, then dont say anything. do me a favor too and quit bustin my chops and trying to make urself sound like somekind of POST/PROGRAMMING GURU. i TRIED all the things u mentioned above, we DIDNT get supplied a G-code manual by Mazak when they upgraded the control and the Mastercam dealers told us that these were GOOD posts for the Mazak. so, hence the reason why i am on here. thanks for the INTELLIGENT input dude!
  9. Good day fellas, i was wondering if ANYBODY could help us out and e-mail us a SAMPLE G-CODE file for a MAZAK QT-30 MAZATROL PLUS Control? we just had the control upgraded for eiaiso capabilities. we got a crappy post from Mastercam wholesalers and we are wondering if ANYBODY could gives a proven or somewhat of a reference to go off of. the problem is that the machine is alarming out (ILLEGAL G-CODE). all help is appreciated and thanks in advace! best regards, Pdq Machine!
  10. thanks a lot. we have never done any conversational programming on a Mazak, including myself. is it pretty simply and self-explanatory or is it a pain in a** if u've never done it before? Mazatrol programmers are somewhat in short supply right now in h-town, that is why i wanna incorporate programming from MX. thanks again!
  11. hey dude!!! thats cool stuff!!! u have anything for lathe applications?
  12. Hey muchachos!! just curious, we just purchased an older Mazak, a QT-30 w Mazatrol Plus controls. Can it be programmed with Mastercam? is the only thing necessary that this machine be made EAI Capable so that it will recognize G-code & also purchase the required post? thanks in advance!!!!
