  1. Ditto!, I never saw that one either. Thanks Dave
  2. Hello, I am wondering if anyone has been able to find a way to use the "Axis Shifts" in a "MPGEN5X_FANUC" based post. I am wanting to do this because our C(primary full rotary) is a few thousanths off of the C/L of the B(secondary) axis? Thanks for any replies. Mike
  3. Hello Peter, Basically, In think what you are saying is that if I am modeling and exit and save while working in view 37, when I go back view 37 won't be 37. Aaahh! I knew it did re-order and delete but for some dumb reason I just did not put these two things together. I always use named views when I get to the actual programming of the part because it is usually a 4 or 5 axis machine. When I am modeling the part I just set the cplane off of what is there and go. I now think this is why I am running into this. The only thing now is that why is this happening when I am working with a simple "F" front view? Thanks for the help [ 01-20-2004, 03:37 PM: Message edited by: Michael Whitten ]
  4. Hello, I am having an issue with 9.1sp2( CD install) where it looses the cplane value. For example, my contruction plane is set to front view and I am creating geometry etc. I then exit and save or do something else( I havn't found the exact pattern yet). If I go back and start to create geometry again, the cplane value will sometimes be incorrect. The cplane number that is displayed on the secondary menu will be correct but the cplane view marker(alt-f9) will be wrong. It will only start working if you re-select the cplane again. It does not seem to matter on the machine that it is running on as I have played with at least three and they are the same I don't remember this happpening to me in any other version ? This is only an annoyance but it would be nice to find out what it is so that I may get it logged or fix something on my end. Thanks for the help, Mike
  5. Hello Rekd, I don't really believe that I have harnessed all of the power from the view manager / WCS funtionality yet but I am just wondering about one thing. On a horizontal application, do you use different WCS's or just use named views with the WCS set to "system view one top" Thanks
  6. J Coulston, I am doing a lot of four axis positioning work and I do it just as Mayday says. I always, for more than one reason, leave the WCS set to "system view one top". Named views in Mastercam work very good for me. There was a few issues back in the older V9 versions but I haven't had any lately. I am using CD install V9.1 sp2. If you search back in some of the older strings, there is a lot info about using WCS. There is also a download help file in the support section. Thanks
  7. Hi Roger, I did this and it seems to fix it but I am not changing my WCS?, I am only working with named views. This problem is intermittent so it is hard to tell right now. I will work on this program all tomorrow and post the results. Thanks
  8. Oops, I forgot to mention that. I always leave the WCS set to view #1-system view top and I always have named views. Thanks
  9. Hello, re:9.1 sp2 (CD install) Has anyone had a problem when working in a non-planer type view(ie iso) where the gview gets lost? What happens is that when you regen, backplot or click on the geometry in the op-manager the gview just jumps off of the screen or drastically changes. I have never had this happen to me in any other version of Mastercam before. I can take the same file and load it right up in 9.1 sp1 and it works just fine. This problem will re-create in three different computers, two are running 2000pro and one is running XPpro. The things that are the same is that they all are running an Nvidia Gforce ti-4200 type of card. It is a major issue because most of the work we do is on multi-axis machines with a 3d model of some sort. We are going find some other computers around here with other types of cards to try it on in the next few days. It sure doesn't seem like a card issue to me but.....? I am told that only two people have reported it so far which is why they are saying it is a hardware issue. It is also wierd because it will work sometimes and sometimes it won't. It does happen on every MC9 file in the building though. Thanks for the help, Mike
  10. Thanks Rekd, You know, it seems that just when I start to know something, I always get reminded that I don't. There is always so many different things to learn. One thing for sure is, one can't get complacent these days. Mike
  11. Yes, I think I have to start working with VBS as I am guesing there is a lot of stuff that can be one with it? Thanks
  12. Thanks guys, Hey Rekd, It looks like Irfan will really do a lot if you dial it in, I will work on that. Thanks
  13. Hello, I am wondering if there is any type of "add on" that would enable me to directly export a graphics type file, such as *.Gif or *.Jpg. I wonder if the Rastor / Vector converter will do this. I realize that it is very simple to just "copy to clipbord". It is just a little slower as it requires two steps and pieces of software. At this time I just use Power Point. Thanks for the help
  14. Hello Vaporless, Does this happen only with the stick font? and does it happen all of the time? I had a similar problem only when I was using stick font and it happened only some of the time. While working with Tech support we found that if you use an older version, like, I think it was ver.6 it will not happen. If you need this font let me know and I will e-mail it to you. It may take until Monday as I am off-site at this time. Thanks All
  15. I am running this on a HAAS and and seems to work perfect with inverse feed. As I understand, most Haas machines came with Inverse feed anyhow. I have also had great luck with the MPGEN5X_FANUC.pst with 4th and 5th axis milling on a Matsuura 5ax/ Fanuc 16 machine. It seems that if you can, running Inverse is best with any type of rotary motion.
  16. Dave, I was confused with the following switch: rot_feed : 1 I had it set to zero because I was thinking that it was for caclulating the feed according to the diameter. I tried my program in sevaral of the MPMASTER posts and It posts out fine, just like MPFAN. Thank you very much for the help
  17. Hello, I just ran a 4th axis job on a vertical mill in which I needed Inverse time feedrates. I was able to get it done by posting it with the machine’s normal post( MPMASTER based) and merge in the 4th stuff from a recent MPFAN post. In order to get the MPFAN to give me what I needed, all I had to do is to change as follows: use_frinv : 1 #Use Inverse Time Feedrates in 4 Axis, (0 = no, 1 = yes) rot_feed : 0 #Use calculated rotary feed values, (0 = no, 1 = yes) maxfrdeg : 2000 #Limit for feed in deg/min maxfrinv : 9999.99#Limit for feed inverse time The issue is that I tried to change the same thing in the newer MPMASTER post and I do not get Inverse Feed. I am sure I am missing something very easy, but I just don't see it? Good with Inverse: Z.2342 G1Z.143F4. G93X-.775A-144.069F13.89 G94X-.925F8. G93X-1.055A-91.026F43.12 X-.775A-19.018F24.04 X-.655A30.012F46.68 X-.78A58.018F55.86 G94X-.665F8. G93X-.605A80.032F98.33 G94X-.525F8. G93X-.365A15.006F35.1 X-.325A0.F145.99 G0Z3.2142 X-.365A15.006 Bad without Inverse: Z.2342 G01 Z.143 F4. X-.775 A-144.069 F8. X-.925 X-1.055 A-91.026 X-.775 A-19.018 X-.655 A30.012 X-.78 A58.018 X-.665 X-.605 A80.032 X-.525 X-.365 A15.006 X-.325 A0. I have had very good success with all of the MPMASTER posts so I would like to stay with them. Thanks for the help
  18. I am sorry, I was not specific. The Bug is with Mastercam 9.1 SP2. There is also another Bug that may be related to this one. It is Bug #24680. What happens is when you have your part in a non-planer type view, like Iso or just dynamic rotated to where you want and then try to regen, backplot or select the geometry part of an op in the op manager, the GVIEW gets lost. I have had this happen to me on every job now. Since I am always working with multi-axis machines, I always have many named views so I have not tested it without. I am working on going back to 9.1 sp1, I will let you know what happens. Thanks
  19. I have been having the same problem and got it logged as bug number 24597. Thanks
  20. I noticed that problem back in May and it was logged as Bug #23229. The same problem exists in Circmill also. I got that logged as #23176. I have used Mastercam for about 4 years and I do not remember this issue in any of the older versions. The Bummer is, if you take a pre-9.1 program and regen. The cycle time increases substantially, especially when the c/brs or holes are deep and the "Z" feed was low. The only "work around" I know is to set the feedplane about .001 above the bottom. They recommended this to me. This creates a lot of extra g-code though and is not very "Clean". Thanks
  21. I found a problem while filtering pocketing operations in the middle of March. QC says that they will have the fix in the next service patch. This patch is due any day now. It wouldn't hurt to try something like MPFAN though and compare the g-code in the problem area.
  22. Update: Tech support has found a work around for this problem. Per Tech support: The solution is to make sure you left click on the named view before you go to Set Current, All. If you do not left click then it keeps the name and details from the system top view. For now make sure you left click on the named view instead of just right clicking on it. This works for me now, my view names are not disappearing anymore. Thanks, Mike
  23. Cadcam, thanks for the .doc that you have provided. I am sure it will help out as it explains everything very clearly. I will play some more and possibly figure something out. Glenn, this issue has also been logged twice on my end over the last 5 weeks as Bug19852 and Bug19634. I will work on it some more and also try a different computer over the next few days. I must make sure it is not an error of mine though. I need to find and record the exact keystrokes that can reproduce it. Thanks all
  24. We are having some problems with FTP. Our systems guy will look at it later for me. Thankyou
