  1. I try to upload a file to FTP site but unable to open the site. It keep searching for hours. Anyway,I am having problem with the finish of a profiling. Material 4140. A 30 deg slope like a v-shape about 2x4x6" chamber. Rough it out with a 1" carbibe insert Endmill and rough and finish with 5/8 dia Carbide insert Ballnose, RK cutting tool.

The customer is not happy with the surface finish. She wanted 125 and better.I having a hard time to make her happy. if someone can look at the file and give me some suggestion in the process, feed and Speed etc... that might satisfic her request.

Thanks guys. I can count on you smile.gif

  2. THANKS GUYS. I just show my boss yours messages. He said nothing just gone to the toilet smile.gif . He is a old A**hole afraid of technology. He heard others told him some negative remarks after installing about MR2. He think we going to spend two days to paly around before get it going.

Again, he is the boss I got to get his promission first whenever I upgrade or make any chnages with Mcax.

  3. THANK YOU. I FOUND IT at Tool parameters... but

If I wanted to set 1/2" dia cutter finsh at .300" depth of cut.

How do I set: Rough xy step %

    Finish xy step

    Rough z depth

    Finish z depth

I tried a couple of times its still not what I expected frown.gif

  4. How can I change the Depth of Cut default value in the control parameter?

Right now I don't know where and how the dafault value was set and everytime I have a deffierent depth of cut for different tool.

Also if I make an edit. The depth of cut that I input changed by itself.

Can I set up in such a way that each time I called up individual tool and the depth of cut preset so that I don't have to change the value.

    Using Mcax mill level -2

  5. Why my AUTO SAVE do not work properly. I have it set to every 3 MIn and save to a file name Autosave in the same directory. Sometimes it works fine but sometime when I made a mistake in my file and close it without saving. Hopefully, I could open the Autosave file as a backup. Today, mu autosave file shown me some files three days old not 3 min. ago ?????!!!!!!!!!

  6. I am having problem to surface a .500 Rad around a inside cavity 49 x 10" size with .25" rad corner. The distand between the island and the wall cavity is .600" width. So, I try to save time by using a large ballnose, 1/2" dia then using a 3/16' ball to profile the corners. But it came out badly in the corners. Apparently, the two tools don't bland in smoothly.I could feel a step.

Do people usually using two different tools for surfcaing in the same surface level ?

Which is better Using finish flowline or parallel for this application?

    Usimg MCamx level 2 !!!

material is 4140 and using carbide ballnose. I just finish without roughing. stepover .020"

How can i make it better. My boss is blaming the programmer not the operator for the bad finish.

What the "bleep" do you know? Please share with me.

    Have a good day guys.

  7. Cannot extend trimmed edges surface ???

While working on a imported Solidwork file. I cannot use surface extend to extend out the surfaces for profiling. It shown ""Cannot extend trimmed edges surface ""

How can I overcome tha? Is that something to do with the Solidwork file ?
