This was supposed to be a secret (way to go) but we are working on a mobile friendly version of the forum.
-
When changes come, you'll know
Looking at a September time frame if all goes well.

Time to join with the pros and move to a true newsreader based board.

If I'm making that call, not a chance. The layout of UG's was terrible, would not want to see this go that route.
While usenet has its place, I wouldn't say this is it. No, we will not be going that route however we will be moving to a fresher set of code that will come with its own speed improvements and be easier to navigate.
We're also moving to a better search platform in general. That's all I'm going to say about that right now.
Finally, to your point about people without direct computer access to the forums while at work - we have a solution for some in that boat on the horizon as well.

I would like to see some kind of "human" check to stop the scripts and bots from just making a new account.
That was one of our core requirements of the new platform. We should see significantly less spam with the new system as it will incorporate active monitoring algorithms to prevent unwanted (automated) account / post generation.

When you post a topic and when someone reply's it will send a email to you with responses.
Most definitely. There will also be a feature where you can "watch" a specific forum or sub-forum for new content if you wish (in addition to being able to watch just an individual thread).

While emastercam.com has become home in some ways to many of its users, even the best of homes can benefit from renovations. We’re looking to give eMastercam a fresher look, add new functionality and to make it more user friendly.
We have a fairly long list of things we would like to accomplish but we’re sure there are other ideas we haven’t thought of yet. Part of this change will be a switch in forum software and possibly hosting.
We will make every effort to port over accounts, and posts that currently exist on the forum.
We are looking at a late summer launch date.
For many, eMastercam is a free added resource for support collaboration, as well as a general communication tool for the larger Mastercam community. We want to thank those that use it extensively by giving back – we want to provide a more expansive and up to date set of resources that will benefit all users.
We would also like to take this opportunity to hear how we might make eMastercam work better for you.
- Is there anything about eMastercam that you positively cannot live without?
- Is there anything that you cannot stand?
- What do you find works but could be made better?
- Is there something we could add that would make your life easier?
- Any other comments are definitely appreciated!
Please direct all suggestions to [email protected]. Thanks for your continued support!

Sorry - in following with the forum rules I had to take down that thread. We want to avoid defaming anyone on the forum, and looking to the future, especially want to avoid the forum from being implicated in any sort of professional issue that could arrive from business grievances being raised.
quote:
"11. Issues with your reseller should be resolved directly with your reseller and/or CNC Software. Airing out your issues using the forum will not be tolerated."
We understand the frustrating you might be going through, but please do contact the right people at CNC software to get this taken care of.

We're seeing more and more post requests on here so we wanted to give people a quick option while they are here to ask for a post.

All post mods requests will be filtered to the appropriate dealer.

Hi all,
You will notice a "Post Request" icon on top of each page.
This allows any user to log a post request.

If you are talking about the chooks that come with Mastercam you could go to the help file in Mastercam and search for c-hooks... You will get a list of chooks and their functions

Your IT guys should have the update codes for your nethasp, but you may have to light the fire for them
-
cadcam's FTP has changed addresses and while eMastercam has been updated, some of you may be using a client to access it.
The new info:
login:mastercam
pass:swiss
host: www.mastercam-cadcam.com
thanks again to cadcam for service

I'd say that when an Edgecam salesman pops in to stir the pot, yes, we're into censorship.
-
The IP traces on this guy's multiple accounts here are from our home town. I believe it to be an ex-employee now working for the competition.
So yes, threads and individual messages are disappearing. I have little patience for this. On the bright side, this is how they are electing to use their time.

Q. What is considered inappropriate graphical content?
A. If I need to hide my screen when someone is walking by, the content is inappropriate.

In our V9 post, I think we just tool what Mastercam gives us in the NCI. In our 'Beta' X post (www.emastercam.com/posts/mpmaster) we actually look at the state of the check box and make different decisions based on that. If you're on X, test with the beta post, report back.
Other wise email your stuff to dave.thomson at the emastercam.com domain.

Bullines is moving on to a pure development gig. I'd like to thank him here for his contributions to In-House and to eMastercam.com.
He's around for another week if you'd like to wish him well.

Thanks for the feedback. Emails enabled again. You can modify individual prefs in your profile.

PM is in fact a UBB option, just have it turned off - no way to police it. I tend to like the concept of 'convergence'. Is is not enough to have discussion boards, email work/home, voice mail work/cell/home, IM, etc. Gotta have the Private Messaging too?!
-
Let's get the group's opinion on hiding all emails. When we force you to hide your email, it disrupts the flow of information and assistance, but chances of board-related spam are basically eliminated. If I open emails back up, each individual can decide in their profile how they wish email to be handled (visible, invisible but through the board, or disabled).
I should mention that the site can't be automatically 'mined' for email addresses. A perp would need to join up as a board member in order to access email addresses, which means spam will be CAD/CAM/DNC/CNC related.

I like and respect all the dudes involved in this thread and hate to see them argue over what amounts to phrasing. Chill yo. Yos?

When displaying things while maintaining source formatting in an area not large enough to display it - something has to give.
In the new forums, if a chunk of code (for example) is pasted in, the forum will wrap the text but in the case of a steady stream of characters, stretch to its width causing you to have to scroll the whole page to the right.
More ideally, if you use the Code button when inserting code, that portion of your post will display within a frame that allows you to scroll that area, leaving the rest of the thread in tact.
