Does anyone know what kind of Database Mastercam is created with? Or database launguage it uses to communicate internally? Thanks, Casey

I use the same post on all 5 of our Rovers. 2 old 336, a little less old R30, and 2 Year old Rover C. I love the hole to table function for drilling. We bring all programs in through the old Program editor, we have to add a stock thinkness to one of the machines. We don't do much c-axis but what we do it works fine with. I hate to say it but they are a much better machine than the 2 komo flat tables I have that like to be in paperweight mode! In house created my post, and helped us work through all the fun g-code bugs! They are a pain when you start to program them in Mastercam, but once you get use to the backwards way of doing everything they are actually pretty easy!

I JUST WANT TO GET THE PROCEDURE CORRECT. I AM STILL RUNNING X3 MU1 - DUE TO THE FEAR OF THE UPDATE CURSE. SO I NEED TO DOWNLOAD X4 INSTALL THEN DOWNLOAD X4 MU2 ON TOP OFF THAT, UPDATE THE FUN CRUD AND I SHOULD BE ABLE TO ROCK PRETTY BUG FREE? DO YOU HAVE TO DOWNLOAD THE SOLIDWORKS OR EDGE CONVERTERS FROM THE ORIGINAL RELEASE OF X4?

Is mastercam ready for Solidworks 10 update, I did not see a new update file @ the mastercam site. If not anyone know when?

Any idea when it will be? MR2 or will they put out a solid works update file. I have done the X_T befor and our drawers hate doing it.

"I have been told X4 Mu1 already fixes this." Any time frame on Mu1, I will not install any mastercam till its first maintance release, something about my boss not wanting us to be guinee pigs anymore! I hope soon the new version of solid works is getting installed soon!

GCODE THOSE ARE SIMPLE FIXES FOR PEOPLE WHO COMPLETLY UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY WORKING WITH. BUT FOR US SOLIDWORKS IS A WORK IN PROCESS, WE TYPICALLY USE SOLIDEDGE BUT ARE MAKING A SWITCH DUE TO ONE OF CLIENTS NEEDS. SO TO UPDATE TO GET CURRENT SOFTWARE IS TO MUCH OF A HASSLE WITH CURRENT MASTERCAM SOFTWARE. ALSO TO HAVE A NEW PROGRAMMER TRY TO DO TO MUCH WILL CONFUSE THE PROCESS, AND THAT IS ALSO A GENERIC FIX THAT DOES NOT WORK ALL THE TIME FOR ME. I TYPICALLY HAVE TO SAVE AND REOPEN TO GET MY STUFF TO HIGHLIGHT CORRECTLY. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY TO BACKDOOR THINGS IS ALL ANYONE IS SAYING. LIKE I SAID I LOVE MASTERCAM, BUT TO RELEASE WHAT THEY RELEASED AND TO NOT FIX AT LEAST THE BASIC STUFF IS RIDICULOUS, 4 MONTHS AND 13 LATER TO HAVE NO SOLUTION IS RIDICULOUS. I AM SO HAVING FLASHBACK TO X1!

The real disapointments to our company is A) I am trying to train a new guy but can not put him on X3 because half the time you can see what you are chaining. So everytime he accidentally opens an X3 program on X2 I get to start over again because it corrupts the file, because god forbid the 2 were compatible. It is putting our drawing department behind on Solid Works because they can update until I do. Don't get me wrong I am Mastercam lover, just wish they would have taken care of the basic functions by now. Instead of making us all wait for MR1. A service pack would have been nice or making there goal date of sometime in October. Did something go wrong in the intial testing to have so many bugs? Some of the bugs go as far back as X1, the chaining problem was there then, and then fixed in the service pack that we had to wait months for then along with having to wait for the update to solid edge then. I would think they would look for the same mistake twice, but that is just me. Well hopefully testing will be more complete on X3 MR1. Or we are still in the same boat 5 months later. Hopefully they will get there stuff together soon.

I AM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH MASTERCAM AND BIESSE AGREEING TO WORK TOGETHER. WHEN A 90 DEGREE CORNER COMES UP MY MACHINE SLOWS DOWN AND MAKES THE CORNER. BUT WHEN I GO TO DO A DIFFERNET ANGLE SUCH AS A 22 DEGREE THERE IS NO SLOW DOWN AND CAUSE THE MACHINE TO VIBRATE PRETTY GOOD. IS THERE SOME KIND OF C HOOK OR SHORT CUT TO FORCE THE MACHINE TO SLOW DOWN IN ALL CORNERS AND NOT JUST 90 DEGREE ONES?

Since I put in X3 my tool setting automatically Asign tool numbers sequential. In my setup file it is suppose to be select from tool number. My files are set up right but for some reason it does not use my setting and uses it's own. I have had this problem since I put in X3 last month and Mastercam and reseller are stumped. Does anyone know why sometimes X3 highlights some enties then stops. For example I will be working on a part and when I go to selct a toolpath the first couple it will highlight and everything is fine. Then you go to do the next op and select the paths but it doesn't highlight it, nor will it highlight anything I select wether it is the whole part or just one entity. I tried slowing down my Hardware accelorator and that did not work. Is this a bug or a computer problem?

I am having alot of problems with parts that I merge in from solidedge. My drill block will not pick up some holes and does pick up others. For example if I have Qty: 40 - 8mm drill holes 15mm deep iy might see 8 of them. So then I have to drop in points recreate the hole by drawing it in mastercam. Does anyone out there no why this would happen? Or been through it. I am using X3 Router 1. We are cabinet company so drilling is one of number 1 ops, and I am getting sick of redrawing 100's of holes! Help me please! Thanks! Casey Hewes Programmer Midwest Store Fixtures!

Does anybody know what happened to the create new view button on the view manager? Without it creating new views is impossable unless someone out their knows a trick.

MyriadPro-Semibold.otf and MyriadPro-Bold.otf are the fonts.

Is there anyway to add fonts to mastercam? I tried dropping the new in the folder but it didn't pick it up.

Do you need a special liscence to use the art. I have been trying to toolpath the sample pics with no luck. Any ideas of what I am doing wrong or if you need to have higher then router level 1 liscence. Casey
