  4. Hi,buddies: Drill some Dia.1/4" holes on 1/8"thickness material both sides with aluminum laminate and a plastic inlay.Norme twist dill let both side bump up( on peck). How to get good result? What kind bits? Any suggestions will be welcome. Thanks, Eric
  5. Hi,L.K: Resetting stock height cannot solve this problem. When machining the pocket Mastercam calculate the Z level from top of the very begining stock. The software doesn't calculate from the face which already been milled for project. The surface is couved but Mastercam calculate the depth cutting by horizental level. That produce lot of air cutting Thanks for your instruction. Eric
  6. Hi.guys: Following the tutorial Raised letters project on a surface. One MDF part finished .Everything is good. There is one problem: when machining the pocket which was projected on the surface, pocket start from a horizontal plane. As the surface have been done before pocketing,it spend a lot of time to mchine in the air.How to change my setting to save machine time. Thanks Eric Peng
  7. I try it yesterday, It works.Your router must be 3-axis, not 2.5-axis.
  8. Thanks Colin, you give me a good suggestion.I'll try High Feed function later. When I machine plexi parts the feederate cann't be too low, otherwise material will burn out. By the way,our contoller doesn't use G08. Thanks for your reply. Eric
  9. I work on cnc wood shop for 6 years, most 3-axis machine centre may not work on z change .And right now i am test on Komo router ,to see if it work.I'll feed back after test. Eric
  10. Yes, we use Vacuum + double side tapes to hold the piece. Vacuum lose should happen on four corners.I don't know when the table was decked, maybe never. Thanks Ron Eric
  11. I agree. I program for that machine only half year.I think one axis is off. I will try in different feed and feed back. Thanks a lot Eric
  12. Komo router and supports exact stop.
  13. If it'relate to tool, it should happen in four corner, not two.
  14. 1/2" endmill, in 120 in/min, rpm 12000,I try add exact stop on ,Problem still there
  15. It works on a router,no coolant system. only 1/64"in depth and 1/32" overpass material is removed.I don't think there is different in rough and finishing. This happens always, i think it may be feederate problem. On sharp corner feederate should low down properly. Thanks Eric
  16. Hi, Just cut one aluminume rectangular part.On the top left corner and bottom right corner, there're some pumping marks. Like tool vibrate there. Why ? Any instruction will be welcomed Thanks Eric
  17. Thanks Anthony, i'll contact to Lisa for a full license.
  18. I don't think i'm copying software. It's the problem which the In-house solution guy leave it to us.They should set it up together with Mastercam x.
  19. Hi,there: i use CIMCOEdit to send NC file to controller. When machine's on work the file can't be sent.I set-up another computer on site and copy the Cedit folder from my computer. The operator can load program from a share-driver.It works good for couple months.Last week the on site computer warning HASP needed, when operator open the CIMCOEdit. Could i fix-up? Any suggestion will be welcome. Eric Peng
  20. Thanks for your reply, i using multi-pass plus stepcut. To save the time only 2 pass was token for multi-pass(1/32" distance).maybe not enough?
  21. Thanks guys, Under your instruction , I finished my 4 alumimum molds last weekend. It took me 30 hrs.I raise spindle speed from 7000 to 10000 (for 1/2" endmill)and 15000 ( for 3/16" endmill).Max rough step 1/64.Stepover percentage 60.Feed rate 150.Add air blower. NO any chip welding anymore on my router. Now I have some very basic Questions to ask (because of lacking of metalshop experiment).Hope your fourth instructs. The Part is a 20" round with 3 degree, there are 7 deferent level pockets.Thickness 2". Q1:for 1" depth pockets ,3/16" cutter run 2 finishing pass in full depty ,it produce big vibration.same thing happen when using 3 degree tape outside profile. Q2:using 1/2" endmill outside profile what's usual machine method in metal shop? How to provent tool vibration in four corner ( with big offcut)? Eric Peng

    RPM

Hi,guy, Thank you for your replies.I appreciate all of them. I agree with Jford ,and will try single flute cutters. The router is disigned for wood and plastic. There is not coolant system. The spinder limit rpm is 18000 for wood or plastics. We can machine very good aluminum mode.I still try to find good way to provent chip welding. I don't have experiments on meltershop.Need your further instructions NEW2007

    RPM

I am making some aluminum mode on KOMO router. As the manual book suggesting, the spinder RPM is 7000.The parts run on that high RPM,1/32" material is cut off for muti-pass or depth-cut. Now the problem is the chips welding easily because of no coolant.Could somebody instruct if the RPM too large? (Cutting tool's 1/2" HSS 4 flute spiral)
