  1. It appears that the only way to get a peck in there in MCX is to go with a grooving cycle instead of the roughing. But I can not get as clean a tool path with the grooving.
  2. Hiya, I have been trying to see if there is a way to add a peck on a lathe In_Feed during a rouging cycle. I need it for chip control on those moves. Right now Im having to manually add it to the posted code and since those moves are not straight it is not super fast. Any ideas?? See picture for details.
  3. I guess this is just the way it is. I've learned to ignore the rapid moves in backplot as they are backwards and verify is totally useless with VTL. It would be nice if they made a true VTL set-up instead of just a hack on their Horizontal. All I can do is hope for future fixes on those items. >< I am getting good code for the cycles, I just have to ignore what I see in MCX, post it out and backplot in Cimco to see what is really going to happen with the rapid moves.
  4. Gcode, SP1 did help some, still some weirdness. But its alot better. Still running with the unified back ground buffer off as well.
  5. We use a drop of blue on them, note just a DROP of blue..heheh We torque them as well.
  6. You will have to change it before you try to post, it is different than V9. You will have to change it in your machine definition. In your operations manager, you will see a Properties right above your toolpath group, if you expand that ( hit the + to make is show what is listed in there ) you will see a Files, Tool Settings, Stock Setup and Safety Zone listed. Click the "Files" link and it will open a window of your machine Group Properties. The second group down on that window is "Machine - Toolpath Copy" Click that. This will open a "Machine Definition Manager" window. In there on the right side is a place to select the post you want to use for that machine.
  7. I am having troubles with using MCX in VTL. I was wondering if someone who has a good setup for vtl would be willing to share their set-up so I can compare it to mine. I am axis indicators that are showing the wrong axis on them, I have to "fake" the tools home position by making the number a negative instead of a posiitive to get it to go the right direction when back plotting. And I am having all sorts of display issues with tools regening in the correct orientation, then appearing wrong when backplotting. I have attached an image of my set-up so far, its based on the generic VTL one from MCX. You can see in the picture I am analyzing a line that is showing -y12.9055 , which should really be X12.9055. It does post with the correct axis and numbers, but is a pain to work with the display incorrect. If anyone knows of a way to correct this I would be very happy..lol I have looked at the view options at the bottom of the screen, but they are set-up for horizontal not verticle lathes.
  8. Here is the path just in case Settings/Configuration/"Start/Exit" Then use the Editor drop down box to select "other" Then it will let you browse to your cimco exe file.
  9. Nope, Its not part of the package anymore. =[ We used it alot as well. We are looking at getting their full Editor now. It is on sale for 1/2 price till the end of the month. To get buy for now, I pathed it to the old cimco in V9 that I still have installed.
  10. Naw same issue, download wont start if I try it from update manager and if I run it local is errors out..lol Guess im hosed. I have internet access fine, unless it is trying to use some odd port to download the update, I had no trouble downloading it direct.
  11. yeah I downloaded it to my desk top from the direct link and installed it from there after the download in the update manager failed 3 times. Something odd going on here. I did install it at home and it updated there with zero problems so I must assume it was either load on the update servers timing out or Our work network causing some problem with the download. I am trying to install it again now
  12. Im at a loss with my MCX backplotting in Lathe, I am running the 71.84 nvidia drivers and DX9c. The unified back/depth buffer switch is off. And I am still getting so many backplotting errors that I have given up using it and use my Text editors backplotting to see what the code actually does. = Dell 370Precision workstation, NVidia Quadro FX 3400, I am running dual displays and have noticed that SolidEdge runs better with large files if I step back to one monitor so I tried that with MCX and had no change. I installed it at home on my AMD2.8 with a ATI9800Pro 128M card and it runs better on that than my Workstation here at work..hehe I am hoping for some changes to make it back plot better. I also do not like the way it does not peel out the material when backplotting and just removes it after the operation is complete.
  13. Gsode, the folder is on my desktop, but I guess that is technically in your docs folder so Ill try moving it to the MCX folder. And give it another go.
  14. Well no SP1 in the TitleBar and 10.0.22.2 version. =[ Yes I am administrator on the PC. Yes the folder was new and empty Just tried to post my tool path, and got three different errors before it was able to pull up the NC file in the MC editor with the file in it..hehe But I GOT IT, so back to the shop I go, thanks for the help and I'll take another look at it on Monday.
  15. Ok it was waiting beacuse this little box was behind waiting for me to click it Which I did then is says But when I restart MCX and tell it to look for updated, it says I still need Sp1. IS there a way to tell if SP1 was applied ot not??
