  1. Has anyone else had this error, and should I be concerned?
  2. Good morning. I'm running X6 MU3. Occasionally when choosing Dynamic Core mill, the toolpath at the machine will cut wrong. It appears to read a radius and rather than cutting a segment it tries to cut the full radius and sometimes scraps the part. Using backplot software (cimco or discriminator) I am unable to identify where the problem will be. Has anyone else had a similar problem, and if so how did you correct this? Ajusting the cut tolerances does not seem to affect the outcome. Thanks, PS. For security reasons I cannot attach the file I am currently working with.
  3. I finally called tech support (imagine that) It was a registry issue carried over from X5. When I used the "Migration Utility" The tech guy suggested that we (consumers) not use that method. Not sure why they don't tell us ahead of time! Any way I had to go into the registry files in current user and delete the X6 folder, A word of advise if you do this, you will lose all customized settings. I copied selected files such as key maps, toolbars etc. to a folder on my desk top. "HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/CNC Software, Inc./Mastercam X6"
  4. Thanks for the reply. I have turned on all, reset all, loaded all tool bars and toolbar files. I had the same exact problem with X5, and recently upgraded to X6, and all was fine until I "updated the folder" I should have thought twice.... No it's not the task bar. It's extremely frustrating trying to design a part and not being able to create view/cplanes or rotate them. or at least I don't know another way to do it...
  5. Okay guys, I have tried everything I read on the forum. I no longer have a status bar period, maximized or minimized. Getting aggravated.
  6. I maybe a few months late......... http://www.mastercam.com/Support/TechTips/backplot/Bkplot_depthbuffer.htm but this should take care of your problem.
  7. I am having trouble saving operation defaults. I did a search and came up empty. Every time I change the operation defaults and try to save them to the defaults using the icons in the top left corner, I get a memory allocation exceeded alarm and they will not save....very frustrating doing the same thing over and over..... Has anyone else had this problem? If so is there any way to fix it? thanks again!
  8. Thanks guys for the replies, it's just mind blowing that the manual that I am reading clearly states that it is capable of cutting arcs in all 3 planes. Even gives programming examples. When I write a program: Ø3. @ X0 Y10. Z0, I get a "Z" soft limit alarm. Is it possible this has to do with the tool length comp? I do not use TCP, never have and not real sure how. The program appears to be ok???. T2 M6 G53 G54 S12000 M3 G05 G53 Z-25. G0 G90 X15.38 Y0. B90. C0. G43 Z-5.38 T2 D2 G1 G19 Z-5.63 F240. G3 Y0. Z-5.63 J0. K1.25 G3 Y.0999 Z-5.626 J0. 9. Good morning all, I am looking for someone to be able to answer this question: I have a Motion master 5axis CNC router with ***or 8055 control. The problem is I cannot cut an arc in G18, or G19 plane. I get an invalid coordinate alarm. I have spoke with my reseller and was informed I would need a custom post written for that output. Am I missing something? I already paid $5k+ for this post. Seems to me that this would be a no brainer, that a 5axis is designed to cut arcs in any direction I would like. Please if anyone can give me a hand, I am fully capable of post editing, just need good information. thanks for reading. Jeremy Fritchy CNC Manager Intrepid Powerboats, Inc. 11700 S. Belcher Road Largo, FL 33773 www.intrepidpowerboats.com
  10. I just wanted to say thanks. Even though I didn't post I was having the same problems. Everytime I have any issues Emastercam.com is the first place to go! thanks all. jeremy
  11. I dont know if this will help.... but i have had trouble using "last" on drill ops only if i pick the holes themself. I started creating points at the center of the hole and using them to create drill tool paths. I have never had a problem since.
  12. david b, If you uncheck spiral inside to outside i think this will do what you are looking for. jerms
  13. ok got it...... whats the deal with the "*" go figure! thanks to all for your continious support jerms
  14. crazy, I have no problem with the post editing, i pretty much wrote this one although it took alot of trial and error.... I'll give you a little back ground. (5 axis router) When i started here they had two post neither of which work correctly. So i created a new one using bits and pieces from each to achieve my desired result. Now I have switched to a new computer, for what ever reason when i transfered the post the output has changed. I cannot decipher where it forces "xout" "yout" "iout" "jout" under "pcirout" in the post
  15. OK i need some help "tweeking" my post. It will not force "X" "Y" "I" "J" in the same line if the values do not change from previous line or have a zero value. My machine will not run without all the values. It is very time consuming (not to mention agrivating) manually writing them in. Any help would be GREAT! thanks jerms
  16. dgriffiths, I could not open your file. There is a "chook" called floor5axis you might try this.
  17. thanks guys. i have tried several different scenarios. i found that if i import the file using the "default" iges translator it helps. i converted the splines to lines, put a contour to it then saved the back plot geo, then offset the contour. with that i had the arcs and lines i was looking for. i also had an issue with the post, it would not create the g2/g3 code so after 3 hrs of compring posts i got the result that i needed. it was imperative that i had the arcs because the splines would slow down so much that the material that i'm cutting would catch fire. sweet! well thanks you all for your support jerms
  18. Hello, I am looking for some answers. I work for a lrg. boat company. The engineers use Rhino. I have had some major issues with the splines, when i regen. the system locks up or takes 10-15 minutes to compute. I cannot back plot either. Does any one else have the same results? Do i have the system config set wrong. Every thing i have read about rhino is that it works great with MCX. Is there anything i should know? thanks for your help [email protected]
