  2. i will look up her name but she is out of orange county and she told my boss that he would not have to buy anything and it would run on any pc.now this all happen before i started here. i know that the better the pc the better mcx runs
  3. quote: If this cheap video card was the answer, I HATE to ask what the question was. You CAN get by with a GOOD GEForce card by buying something out of the $59 bin, isn't going to get it done. Sorry but that is just how it is. In an ideal situation you would have installed and NVidia Quadro card, those are the CAD/CAM workstation level cards. In a less than ideal situation, a GeForce Card, I would recommend NOTHING less than a 9800 card, an older 8800 works as well, I run 2 of these. my computer is older and it has pci slots not pcie so i could not get a quadro. i never had this happen at my old job. i have only been with compart olny 4 months. on top of all that they got mastercam just for me befor i started here and the mastercam reseller told my new boss that mastercam would run grate on an off the shelf pc, so it would be hard to talk them into getting my a new work staition. so the video i have is the best i could find for a pci slot
  4. and it was a step file from colbalt on a mac. it dose not do this all the time just every once and awhile i just put that video card in it hopes that it would fix it i have 2gb of ram and a p4 processor

  9. you dont want diamond coated for the acrylic you want a solid diamond tipped tool for the best finish
  10. if it is one that you made this can happen if you delete one or all of the entities you used to make the wcs
  11. is a wcs that you made or one of the presets?
  12. the tool path editor works thank you but it would be nice if mcx would do it for you
  13. you would think that mastercam would scale it right the formula is not that complex its, part radius - tool radius/part part radius=a a x original feed rate= the feed rate for the radius. i just hate having to edit the g code every time i a good finish
  14. If i do that the tool will chater on the inside of an arc on a contour. high finish is what i do this for. On inside arc you need to slow down the feed to hold the same chip load and sfm that you do on a strate line.
  15. is there any way in x3 to change the feed in arcs based on its radius. now i have to do it by hand to get the right feedrate on a contor with a radius in it.
  16. thanks for the help i was just hope there was a way to do it
  17. how can i save back to x2? x3 and x2 are both .mcx files and when i try to open an x3 file with my x2 it falts out
  18. i do some work for are company in China. they are only just now starting to get x2mr2 and most of them are still running v9 or v8,and i use x3mu1. is there any way to send they a part file with tool paths with out having to reprogam the the part. thank
  19. do i have to use special tools for my shrink fit tool holders or are any end mills and drills ok?
  20. where and i get some templates or how can i make some layout templates? thank for the help
  21. are you tring to finish just the inside or the whole part profile
  22. i have a nvidia Geforce FX 5200 128MC CARD and x3 is running slow and dose not look very good what are some of you using?
  23. sorry i should add that we can get the 8-12 off the machine now but it is hit or miss right now we rough the holes with drills then us ball nose end mills ground into reamers what i was hopeing for is the a better way or a tool that might make it more cosistent
