Mainly its at the start when I load up mastercam, but have had it 1/2 way through a job and it locks mastercam down. If I open mastercam and then the file it seems less of an issue, if I try to open the file directly will always get the problem.

There is mention of the error there for X4 but no fix the only link posted is for an X3 error and I would of hoped that the release of X4 should have that fix built into it

Help, running Vista (64 bit) business. Am having the following alarm coming up and mastercam is very slow or locked up. Alarm says that it can not find ntvdm exe file. Have done a complete reinsatll of mastercam and this has not solved the problem. Thks for the help

Ok is seems its only possible with the drawing of the toolpath. What if we asked if the lead in angle on in the sweep box excepted negative numbers to give direction? would this be a easy fix or add check boxes for CW / CCW

Have been asked this by the boss and need to supply an answer. Is it possible to change the way that the lead in and lead out act on a contour path other than doing a point toolpath. What I mean is this, standard contour external path climb milling, tangent entry and exit at the corner using 50% of tool width, entry is CCW is there a way to make it CW so it enters from the other way. Hope this makes sense, and thanks for the replies.

Dam i feel like an idiot You got it the surface treatment is listed on the main assemble not on the down parts and i didn't spot it. Plus the drawing are in a different language. I owe you a drink for that one. Just don't let anyone else know I'm a idiot. LOL

Been asked to quote on a gear box assembly. Cool looking parts. But some of the down parts have 2 dimensions for the same size. The only difference is in the notation. One has "ap finish" the other "av finish". My idea is that depending on finishing method depends on size you need to hit. Has anyone seen this before and can tell me what the "ap" & "av" mean. And i have been looking on the web but really can't find a black and white answer to it. Thanks in advance

This is what I've always done. Put in a M00, then let the operator turn the machine to manual, then when their finish turn back to automatic and carry on. Just whatch those fingers when deburring that way

Trying to find some info information about this thread. We have the exeternal dia, pitch diameter from gaugemaker software but unable to find the wire diameter anywhere. We think is should the the same as for any 60 degree 8TPI threrad but would like some comformation as its a 1 off part.

Hi all, running MX2 SP1. Has anyone run across this problem or know how to fix it. Able to create wireframe in all colors avaiable, but when I create a solid or surface its always displays in grey, no matter what color I select. When I analyse the entity, it shows it to be in the correct color. This has not been a major problem, but I'm now creating a tombstone with 4 parts and and now can't tell them apart. I have tried putting each solid and surface on seperate levels and changing color, but it still displays grey even though the analyse entity show the color I used to create it. Am i just missing a setting or is a reinstall called for. Toxsol
