i am trying to post 3 operations out of several that i have programed. All goes well till i go to post them and 2 of the selected operations unselect themselves.
What am i doing wrong here???
I am using X5
-
oops i forget to say i am using X%

when I post a program it comes up in the MC Editor. Displayed in all those helpful colors.
My question is how do I access this editor without posting a program???
Right now I post something then go OPEN and click on whatever NC program
I wont to check out. If I just open an NC program it doesn't come up in all those
colors, just plain text. I find it much easier to find whatever with the different
lines of code in different colors.
TIA
all you helpful soles out there

I need to insert quiet a few optional stops in my program.
This is to allow the operator to loosen and tighten the fixturing
between rotation moves.
In the past I have simply done this manually in the G code but
would love to do it while programming since there are 24 of them in this latest
program.
so my question is how to create optional stops in M.C
i am still using X4
-
havn't done this in a while but need to now.
Anyway it all looks good except each new toolpath is coming up with a differnt G number.
I just need them all to be G54. What am i doiing wrong???
Am using MC X4 MU3.
TIA Karl

wow thanks Dave for that spacific info.
in my case the hole dia is + - .003 so not as close as yours.
i have been running 15000 RPM and 2.375 Feed and getting 320 holes at a time.
will change to your nimbers and see if i get another row or two of holes on a drill.
Thanks again

manual entry??? i assume you mean just add another line of code once the G code has been generated??
-
i need to drill 1200 holes through 304 ss tubing. Wall thickness is just .032
am using 15000 rpm and 2.375 feedrate but breaking drills after about 100 holes.
amyone got any suggestions of getting a few more holes per drill??
am using sphinx carbide Micro drills. maybe a better drill out there??
-
Thanks guys. wow another Karl spelling his name right even lol
-
where do i change the material type so as MC will change the feeds and speeds for me??
am drilling a heap of .015 holes in 304ss tubing and breaking drills so need to make some changes.

change a dialogue box entery 19 times???
i have finaly learned how to import from the operations manager inot a new file. But now i have to edit the imported operatiopns a bit. Have 19 tools so 19 operations.
so like the the diameter in the rotary axis control has to be changed in each of the tools.
So is there a quick way to do this without going to each individual tool and editing it there???
Just wondering getting lazy lol

what sort of depth would you be taking???? been trying 25000 at between 8-12 ipm and .005 depth od cut but breaks the end mill after about 5 minutes work. gopt a little .015 end mill graveyard going here. now cutting it back to .002 deep and see what happens

i got this urgent weekend job going here.Machining a helical groove around a .15 dia heat treated 416 ss about 50 RC.
tyhe notes i have on the job put the feed at 2 ipm and 4500 rpm but my robob drill had got heaps more rpm's than that and i would love to be not here all weekend.
oh the groove is .015 deep finished and am using a carbide .015 end mill and my max. RPM is 25000
obviously the problem is breaking endmills, fixturing is pretty "tight" so vibration is minimal

i have a good 4th axis Centroid post if you would like a copy??
-
further to this, when i select a feature it turns yellow, not very distinguishable. can i make selected features turn another colour for these getting tired eyes??

this is what happens when a "commettee " gets to write the job discription. In a nutshell looking for someone who can operate eather Wire EDM or Robodrill (both program and operate) and do conventional shop operations as well (engine lathe, surface grinder, knee mill)basic knowledge of solid works wouldn't hurt.
this is Bucks version not the company version so hope it at least helps. E me if you wont any question asked.
the company is WL Gore and associates.
