  1. Hello Everyone, Thanks in Advance for you opinion and input

I have be using Master Cam since version 6.0. you think I should know by now what is purpose of Tool path group, but i like to get opinion of all the other experince programmer out there.

I have been making a tool path group for every machine setup up untill last week. and it was easy for me to see and move my cuts around within a machining opp. but now my company want to standradize how we program in Master Cam. All other programmer in here move from Geo Path. what they like to do is create a tool path group for every single Tool, does not matter if you have only one cut for that tool and name that tool group as your tool number and tool name, so i have to do the same method. i just finish a program with over 60 tools and over 200 cuts. it took me a lot longer to program than it ussaly does. i find it realy hard to program, find and move my cuts around. i have attached a snap shot.

please feel free to add your method and opinion of best way to use these tool path group

    Thanks once more

  2. I'm trying to merge MCX-5 file with multiple solid (fixture, clamp, etc). All these solid were design in inventor, so in Mastercam there is no chain attached to these solid.

It used to work fine in X4. and it still work in X4. only problem is with X5. I have 9 diffrent PC with X5 all have the same problem. and also it is not just one MCX file it is with all MCX files with solid.

  3. I just install MU3 over MU1. it was running fine, but then i try to open Inventor 2010. Instead of opening Inventor, Master cam installation window pop up saying configuring Master cam X4, after few seconds it give me three option "cancel" "retry" "ignore". I ignore the massage, and Inventor finally open itself. but next time i open the Master Cam it give me some error message with "Red X" saying "can not find entry point for mccore.dll during start up"

I have same problem on three other PC. after i install MU3.

Is any body else having the same problem. Is there any new MU for that bug

    Window-XP, X4-MU3, Inventor 2010

  4. +1

I guess that Is another master bug in master cam.

The whole idea for this tree style dialog was

to save time, but it takes even longer.

if u want to change from one tool path type to another all your parameter will change including the tool and tool plane. once you set those you have to close the window and come back to pick linking parameter.

  5. Ron,

How many times mastercam crash when you do the veriy that way, i have tried it on three diffrent times on diffrent file. all i got was fatal simulation error with master cam crash. i don t know if you are using future master cam x10
