  1. In the past I have never installed a new release until MU1 has been released, sometimes later. X8 seems to have gone through a much more rigorous development process with public beta

I did the same bob.but since its been out in the public beta and heard good things about it.i installed the public release

right away and so far its been good.the only issue I have ,and I know you use vericut so for you it doesn't matter, but my machine

simulation is behaving a little weird.i already contacted shopware about this issue just waiting to hear from them.

  2. Are you using a physical hasp or the Nethasp? If you're using a Nethasp your Nethasp .ini file will need to be edited to reflect the change of software versions. If you have an IT deptartment, call them.

I was having the same issue when installed x8. I renamed the original nethasp.ini in x8 and copied the nethasp.ini from x7 into my x8 folder

    and all is good.

  3. Do I understand it correctly that toolbars/toolbar states have to be re-created from scratch in order to setup the new "workspace" functionality?

that is correct.the only thing you can import is your right mouse click settings.

  4. I have a school here in Ohio teaching it to 5th and 6th graders. They were easier to teah than the instructor. JM2C

I believe you when you say that.i rather train someone who knows nothing about it, than someone who knows

A little, because someone that knows a little is enough to be dangerous.

  5. Naa jim the cutter comp start should be on a g1 move.if your doing a straight cut.set it in your

Lead in /out parameter page.if your using it in circle mill adjust in your start/end angle parameter page.

  6. On the nikken there is a precise bore on it.so the base that i made has a boss the size of the nikken bore minus a few tenths

And i have 4 3/8-16 bolts hoding it down to the platter.could'nt go with the quick change cause we're limited on machine z axis travel.

    But this set up works out great for us.we're mainly a prototype shop.our quantities are 10 parts the most.the parts that i make on this machine range from 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/2 to 5.0 x 5.0 x 5.0
