Hard to say... My experience with MCX so far is that many small variable has an affect... When I was using WinXP I once changed my skin-colour in windows, because I found the standard too boring... Everything was cool, but after a while it caused all menues and scrool bars to work very slowly and icons was flashing when I pressed them... I wasn't aware of the connection between these two things, so it took my dealer a while to fix that problem.. :)

So I will say, nothing is too small to be considered a cause of problem...

  2. As gcodes write, try to check your drivers to the graphic card... It's not always the newest which are the best... I have had problems with that before as well...

    I'm now running a GTX460 1GB, Windows 7 64bit, 8GB RAM

I'm running the same config with a Intel Core i7 Processor 870 processor without any problems...

  3. We are 2 guys programming here... We program all simple parts in Mazatrol, so it's only the more advance jobs we make in Mastercam... But I usually devide the jobs, the other programmer get all he can take and I take the rest... We always follow the whole process through, programming, setup, test run together with operator and then the operator takes over and come back to us if there are problems and we make correction..

I have the opposite problem of most of you guys, since I would love to spend more time programming and less time on other things... But as production manager, quoting, planning, tool purchase etc. I usually got my hands more than full...

  4. Not sure I understand your question correctly, but if you want to move different part of the part/drawing into different levels, then select what you want to move and right click on the "level" in the buttom of the screen and select move and choose which level you would like to move it to...

    HTH...

  5. I have a quick little question for those of you who knows somehting about postprocessor editing...

To get the highest possible pressure when we drill with I/K we normally switch off the outside coolant, but I have to manually add a M9 always before the M51 (I/K code)

The part of the post looks like below... How do I change this to post out first M9 and on next line M51?

    # Coolant M code selection

    sm09 : "M9" #Coolant Off

    sm08 : "M8" #Coolant Flood

    sm08_1 : "M8" #Coolant Mist

    sm08_2 : "M51" #Coolant Tool

If any has an idea it would be great!! :)

  6. I made some more research and after what I could see, the point with Mastercam in Solid Works is that you actually can make some toolpath and then edit the 3D part in Solid Works and the toolpart are automaticly changing together with your changes of the shape...

Could be a nice thing, if you are a developer/constructor....

  7. Hi!

I have installed the Solid Works Add on, but can't see any changes in Mastercam or Solid Words, such as a button or anything to activate it...

How do this stuff works, since I can't find any information regarding that, and is the function worth spending time on?

I have tried to look for a post in here regarding that, but couldn't find it, and when looking on Mastercams homepage regarding the topic, it's close to a "no-info" page: Link

    Thanks!

  8. Are the holes SUPPOSED to be there? Did you try analyze surface? I've seen surfaces come in on customer models with holes that are a result of some weird trimming during the import process. Usually untrim and retrim will fix it

I have made a single surface and just created a hole in it, and it's still a problem... I'll try to check with the other version of driver and see if it will make any difference...

Thanks for the help so far!

  9. Hi!

I'm got a new computer and experience some problems with surfaces... When I import or create a model with surfaces and there are some holes in the surface, then as soon as I place the cursor over this surface to select it, it's like it's changing to slow motion and takes much longer time to select the surface... And when I work with parts with alot of holes, it's a nightmare... All surfaces without holes doesn't have any problems... As far as I can see all my settings are the same on old computer, so I wonder what it can be...

    I'm still running X4 MU3 and I've got a Intel i5 4x3.33GHz, 4GB RAM and a NVIDIA Quadro FX 570...

Any ideas what can be the reason?

Thanks in advance for any help!

  10. Hi!

I got a pretty annoying problem with my MC.. I'm running X4 MR0 (XP 32bit), and I sometimes experience, when I made a lot of operations, suddenly, not matter which operation I try to open, it comes up with "Surface High Speed Toolpath" window, even though that I don't use that type of machining, and all windows are just empty and so I can't change anything, which means my program now is useless...

I have tried this a couples of time recently, and restart doesn't help!!

Anybody with experience with this type of bug or?
