  1. In the past time I have had discussion running with the companies IT department about my computer...

I'm working mainly with 3-4 axis milling with some surface machining, where the regenerate and verify takes long time..

    I'm running X4 and a XP 32bit and I've got a Intel Xeon Dual 3 GHz, 3 GB ram and a 256 MB Quadro FX 570..

I have asked for a quicker computer, because I don't feel I have time to wait 5-10 minutes for a verify (maybe I'm just impatience?? biggrin.gif ), and they suggested me to add 1 GB of RAM more, which I doubt will solve my problem..

How many GB ram can MC actually use, and what is most important for the regeneration and verify?

I can see that the MC only use 50% of my processor and I can see some other had a problem with that here in the forum, but it is not possible with a dual to let MC eat both processor?

    Thanks for any inputs...

  2. quote:

I would be careful with this - proly not legal

If people agree on this and when the day is over, they sign out and continue work I can't see how this can be illegal in any way... It's not like forcing anyone to do it, but if people feel responsible about their work and want to "contribute" to the company it's for me a good way to say sorry!!

The other option is to take the bonus or in the long run show the door, and I think nobody wants that!

  3. In our company we have an "unofficial" policy, that if you make a production wrong, and you haven't followed the system of control etc, so it's clearly your mistake, the company pays material and employee make new parts for free..

About smashing tools/machine etc., it can from my point of view only be paid by the company.. You hire a person for a job.. Are you not satisfied, show him the door!

As Justin write, to educate people to work with focus on safety and responsibility about their work is what works for me.. We only have people without education for this work and we have had very few crashes/mistakes in those almost 5 years with now 11 machines..

People with little experience who are not 100% sure what they are doing have to run whole program with i.e. Z+100 offset and check that each tool has correct length and toolpath looks correct..

Mistakes are inevitable in the long run, but the right attitude about the work compensate for that!

  4. I also have the FX570 with driver version 6.14.11.9166... Never experience any "pauses", but often that it's freezing for some seconds, often under situations, where I wouldn't expect it..

As far as I remember there were someone with troubles with that card some time ago on the forum here...

  5. I'm in a serious troubles with my postprocessor for a Mazak Integrex 400IIIS...

I'm sure my MCX program is correct cause different people have checked it, but the postprocessor we got for it is not working properly...

Everything works fine when I work in TOP plane and RIGHT C/T plane, but as soon as I need to machine something in different planes , it's posting the X value as a Z value with a minus in front and the Z value as X.. And when I post something out from a C-axis milling it's creating a line with x,z,y,c which is completly different from what I want..

We have contacted our local reseller but it takes a while for them to take a look on it because they are busy.. frown.gif

I was wondering if some of you guys have a "bulletproof" post to an Integrex 400IIIs, which they could share if it's allowed??.. Or maybe a hint to what to change in the post I already have??

    Any help would be appreciated!

  6. It's even before that time with T32/Tplus...

As I wrote, it's an old controlling, only in EIA... It's from Siemens or Mitsubishi, but can't be sure as I don't have any specifications, and Mazak ain't more helpfull...

  7. Hi!

We have been "blessed" with a very old MAZAK Quick Turn 6G for simple turning jobs.. It doesn't have Mazatrol or something similar, but only the EIA version.. I have been struggeling to find some G codes for a rough cyclus, and which parameters to put as well.. No matter what I try I always get info, that "Invalid G-code" or "Invalid parameter"...

    Any help would be appriciated!

    Thanks!

  8. I got some really irritating problem..

I had a job, where I needed to make a printscreen from Mastercam and I changed background to white and all attributes to black, using the EA manager.. Afterwards I just closed without saving, but now everytime I start again, I have my black background back, but all lines etc. are black as well, and no matter how many times I try to set all things back and remove all "checked" signs in the EA manager, it's still keeps black...

Even if I import a file, it turns black, and can't even make the "Apply to existing entities" work...

Have tried to check the configuration file with colours etc, but can't find the solution there as well...

    Any good idea??

  9. Thanks alot for your help... It gave me a much deeper insight in how the lathe part of the Mastercam is working.. smile.gif

I have been working on different sizes of Integrex's for 4-5 years now, so I'm pretty familiar with it and the programming in the Mazatrol, but just wanted to try in Mastercam just to expand my knowlegde..

So again, thanks for your help.. It's really appreciated...

  10. I got a trouble.. Hope some of your guys can help me..

I'm trying to drill a serie of holes in an angle of 20 degrees on a Integrex.. But no matter how I try to place my WPC or anything, I can't make the Mastercam drill in other than 0 or 90 degree..

Is there something wrong with my machine definition or do I need multi axis drilling (which I don't have frown.gif ) or am I just completly on the wrong track here...

Feeling like I'm wasting here fighting with it, so any help would be appreciated..

  11. Hi Guys!

I have been fighting for some time with a trouble.. We got a Horisontal machine, which I started to make pgr. for, and now run into the problem with different angles of machining..

But no matter where I look in Mastercam, I can't find anywhere to describe which angle the cube is suppose to turn to...

I have made it with WCS and Unique zero point etc, but can't find this B-axis describtion..

Am I blind or it must be done manually when the pgr. is posted?...

    Thanks for any help.. smile.gif
