  1. Ron, I'd sure like to see a few of these beautiful set-up sheets. Could you post a few of them? Or if not, email some to me? Thanks
  2. Thanks Dave for the reply. This change you suggested worked just fine, except if the prior operation is a manual entry. If the prior op is a manual entry, it moves the manual entry and the op. comment to after the tool change. This could be a problem, for example if the manual entry was used to position the tool to a safe place before the tool change. I tried putting the comment$ back where it was, leaving the two comment$ where you suggested moving them after the M6 line. This moved the manual entry comment back to before the M6 line, but also moved the op comment back. It seems the manual entry and the op comment are both printed out at the first spot it sees the comment$. Is there a further change I can make that will output a manual entry (in the prior op ) before the M6 line, and then the op comment after the M6 line? What I am specifically trying to do is move the machine to a safe tool change spot with a manual entry. Then create an op. that has a comment to be sure a clamp is removed. If the operator searches for that tool, he will see at the top of the Fadal screen his T(whatever) M6 line, then the comment to be sure the clamp is removed. But if he is just running the program, it will execute the manual entry and go to the safe spot before doing the tool change. Thanks for any input/help.
  3. I've got the same problem. I have put in the mastercam disk as it asks for multiple times, doesn't seem to help. Just selecting a file in "my computer", for example to move it or rename it, will start the mastercam install program up. Then trying to cancel takes 2-3 minutes. So basically I can't access my MX files thru "my computer", only by opening them in MX3. I have completely re--installed MX3 twice, same problem. This is a hassle, not terrible but a definite hassle. Any help appreciated.
  4. I am using mpmaster, MX3, and a Fadal. I would like the operation comment to come immediately after the tool change, instead of just before the tool change. The reason is when I search for the start of a tool at the machine, the Fadal screen puts the tool change line at the top of the screen, so the operator does not see the operation comment, if there is one. So if a tool is called two or more times, the operator will not really know which operation he is at unless he manually backspaces up a line. I hope this is clear. What I want is the operation comment at the beginning of a tool change to be right after the T(whatever)M6 line, and just before the Z max and min for that operation. If the tool does more than one operation, the second and following operation comments can be down in the code as it is now. If there is no operation comment for the op. following a tool change, the comment line should not show up, just as it currently does not show up just before the M6 line. Thanks for any help you can give.
  5. looking at the 3dconnexion website, mastercam doesn't seem to be a supported application, is this a problem? Specifically, do you use the small round device, or one of the top two pad looking devices with the round controller on it?
  6. Thanks, problem solved in less than 5 min total - what a forum!
  7. I would like my mpmaster post to output the code with no "N" line numbers. I realize I can remove them in the editor, but can I get the post just not to output them? I looked thru the post and didn't see a switch that seemed to do this. I considered deleting all instances of "n$,", but this seemed a bit drastic without checking here with the experts. Thanks for any help.
  8. I'd like to use mpmaster (MC X3) to rigid tap on a Fadal, set to format 2. What I need is: G84.2 G84.1 XO YO R.5 Z-.5 F18.75 S600 X1.Y1. G80 note: 1.the G84.2 before the tapping is to set the spindle in high gear, recommended by Fadal 2. The G84 needs to be G84.1 3. the speed needs to appear in the G84.1 line, not at the beginning of the tool. 4. no M29 S600 line is allowed before these lines thanks for any help you can give, I'd like to use mpmaster with this fadal.
  9. 9 min 21 seconds homebuilt computer running XP under system: Intel Pentium Dual CPU [email protected] 1.80 GHz, 3.24 GB of RAM Physical Address Extension ps, I bought this computer from the guy who made it for $500 including 19" monitor
  10. Thanks for the reply Colin. I went to the operation defaults in the machine gorup properties, clicked the exclamation point next to it, and all my operations opened up. For a test, I opened the parameters of the drill and contour (my most used) and it opened with a list of tools already picked with a checkmark by tool filter. I want the defaults to be for all tools, including ones I "create", so I opened the tool filter, and clicked on "none" and the tools disappeared. Now I clicked on coolant, and set it to "on". Note that the "with" choice wasn't even there in this parameter page. I did the same for contour. Closed the default page, I guess it saved because I opened it again and the cooland was still "on" for these two ops. Then I created a tool in drill and contour, and the default was still "ignore" and "before", not the "on" that I had preselected in the operation defaults. What am I missing? Thanks.
  11. I am using MPmaster machine definition, control definition, and post. Using X3. I would like the default in coolant to be "on" and "with". It is currently "ignore", so I always need to set it to "on" and also set "with". I don't recall seeing the "before", "with", and "after" choices before, maybe this is a MPmaster thing. I looked into the machine definition, and found a choice for coolant, but try as I might, I could not find a way to set the default to "on" and "with". Anybody who knows how, please give me a little help. Is this change in the machine definition, control definition, or post? Exactly what to I change. Thanks for your help.
