  1. Hello, Does anyone have any experience with PDF-3d or U3D for Mastercam. I went to a training session for X about a year ago and was reviewing my notes and the instructor mentioned that this was something in the pipeline at Mastercam. It allows you to e-mail a Mastercam drawing that can be rotated and zoomed as a pdf file. I know this is a pretty common Solidworks application that would be useful in Mastercam. Sample file ftp://ftp2.bentley.com/dist/collateral/We...astle-3DPDF.pdf
  2. Hello, Is anyone out there thread milling for helicoil inserts? The inserts I need to make threads for is for 5/8-11 & 1/2-13 in 7075 AL. Any insight or cutter recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks Bohutch
  3. Hi All, Thanks for the advise (especially Lee). I've used the "Murlin idea" before and it works really well but in the fillet I'm working on it tapers to a sharp edge on either end so I wanted a variable fillet with a zero radius on each end. I'm trying to import this into solidworks and use their filleting tools then bring it back into mastercam to actually make a part.
  4. Hello, I am trying to fillet a solid drawing using a variable radius fillet. I keep getting a "vertex too complex" message. There are 15 segments in my fillet. I scoured the boards and couldn't find an answer. I need the variable radius option for this part and I'm running out of ideas. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Bohutch
  5. Hello, I have been trying to use cadcam's FTP site and it gives me an error message "connection to server reset" and will not let me in? Anyone know whats going on? Thanks Bohutch
  6. Hello, Does anyone know of a library of fasteners drawn in solids? I do a lot of system assemblies using solids and end up spending a lot of time drawing hardware. Bohutch MC9 SP2
  7. Any post recommendations on this controller? A buddy of mine just got a 2216 with this controller and asked me? Thanks Bohutch
  8. Hi All, Thanks for the replies. Shading is no problem but I wanted to be able to render my solids assemblies with different materials and patterns. You can do some really great looking rendering using studio shading and surfaces and it would be usefull to render a cutaway surface on a rotated solid or something like that. Thanks for your ideas.
  9. Hello, I wanted to know if anyone has had any luck rendering solids using a graphics file like you can with surfaces? I have created surfaces from solids and did it backwards but there must be a better way. I do it in solidworks no problem.
  10. I run a H.P. 5340 (P3-900 & win ME) and no problems to speak of. It has poor performance compared to a desktop with a good vid board especially when using verify but other than that it seems to run. Robert Hutchinson M C9 SP1 solids
