  1. Since I'm usually here when something has gone astray, I've decided to post more OPTImism. Just got to using Opti-core-roughing and really like it.
  2. If it's still an issue, you can use polar cordinates to get rid of this issue or output inverse time.
  3. Hello forum- So, I imported a group of toolpaths from a template program. I reselected new geometry and then generated the toolpath. On all my other programs the regen is very quick;however, the toolpaths in this file is very slow. So far I've done the following 1) shut down and restarted 2) changed my physical memory 3) decreased my display tolerancing It must be something very obvious, but can't seem to nail it down. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You, Jamey
  4. Thanks Mike- I should have mentioned it needs to be a laptop. The FX2800 is a good graphics card for Mastercam. Have you used this one running Mastercam on a regular basis? Sounds like the graphics card is key? Jamey
  5. Ok,I just had Mastercam crash at a bad time and didn't save for 3.5 hours......oh well...I uninstalled my X4 and went to X2 for another customer and my config was not set to autosave. So, I'm ready to run out and buy a computer right now just for Mastercam. I have been told that my computer is the issue. However, I have Unigraphics Catia and Vericut loaded on here and seem to have the most problem with Mastercam crashing? After reading though this thread I still don't know which machine that will give me the most stability. Speed is a second factor. Will a every day user that uses all the operation 2-5 axis that uses large files and use it every day give me a suggestion on graphics card, processer etc. that will work good for me. Thank You very much Jamey
  6. When back into a program that was complete. There is a set of Anvanced Multisurf 5-axis operations. Some of operations will genterate and not backplot? This would not post as well. The file name is the same on all the operations? When stitching to top of a ribtop the lead in move is good on the first pass the second pass there is no lead in. I created about 20 of these operations and they worked fine. Only one had this issue? This morning I backed up a file off the server and tried to open it. Got the currupt file again. Earlier backups opened just fine? Not complaining....Just want to know if anyone else has had these issues. Thank You Jamey X4 MU2
  7. use it 1/2 dozen times a day. Never use it on small or 3-axis operations.
  8. Maybe I shouldn't ask the question, but why can't MC have an axis system that is not attached to operations, but to the toolpath group. If, a 5-axis truion or 4-axis hor needed a fixture/tombstone recut and the machine was not capable of TCP. Then all you would have to do is move a Sub axis system that was attached to all your toolplanes and it would calculate the from to matrix. This would make it very easy to move parts from a machine with a 36" pallet to one with a 24" pallet for an example. Jamey X4
  9. Most of my stainless parts are forgings and one trick that works really good is conventional milling though the skin, if you have a machine with enough torque. I did this on a part that is quite a bit larger then yours and we machine them 6 at a time. The savings in tool life was huge. X4
  10. I have to move a job over from a larger machine (100hp w/ hsk 100 )to one of these small vr11 5-axis haas machines with a cat 40. I have never programmed one of these machines and all this information was very good regarding Acc and Dec. When testing the G187 P3 out at the machine it looked like it took forever to slow the machine down and a P1 look more reasonable for run times. If I program with a G187 P1 E.05 would this allow for a good finish on this machine? This ? would be aimed at FLHX95ci if you are on the forum. Do these spindles have the cabiblity to run a 90 degree thru the spindle head for drilling. Will the spindle allow clocking at any given degree? Thank you, Jamey
  11. Got a reponse back from QC and will be sending off my files that I have had issues with. Thanks Chris. Also had a visit from our local Mastercam Distributor and their support. Thanks Rich and Steve. They offered to let me try to crash there machines (they had built for Mastercam) with some of my files...so I might just have to take them up on that.... :0) Jamey
  12. HMMmm sent off an e-mail to QC and did not receive a response. Guess the squeaky doesn't get the grease. The problem that I had found with this specific file was toolpath that when bad when selecting a solid for drilling holes. This was a solid imported from Catia. All my other toolpath was not attached to the solid and they regenerated just fine. It was odd to me that the file could be saved and opened many times over weeks and then more then one file had issues? There were 2 other files in the pass that blew away all the toolpaths. Has anyone else had this problem or is it just me? Thank You, Jamey
  13. When opening my file the message "missing opfile" went away after holding the return button. The file that I assumed was completely blown away only had a few operations that were dirty out of couple hundred. My apologies for making a big stink. However, there must be a reason for this issue on my end of the software end. This is very frustrating when your whole file gets wiped away along with the backups. If anyone has any advice for me to try to prevent this in the future, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank You, Jamey X4
  14. Thanks G-code lets see what they can do.. Jamey
  15. Ok, cadman this is my " Whine " I opened a file thursday and had worked on it for a week. Worked 30 hours stright through the night and then worked 6 more hours at another company. yes 36 hrs straight. No I hardly every take lunch... The file when I saved it was fine. When opening it " No matching op file". So, With little " Whine " I redo my work and save " 6 " Backups through the night. Today when opening the file 3 of my back ups have the same problem. I work mastercam on three different computers all the computers open the file the same way. Now, here I am on a sunday about to run my part though Vericut and call it a day. Well, I get the No Matching Opfile again. All the solids where generated and I used the nohist.dll before programming. YES! This is a can do guy i just don't like to REDO! I may sound like a debbie downer, but very seldom do throw something negitive out there unless very fustrated. Just trying to get the job done.........Beer time Is there an application guy from Mastercam that I can send my file to without disclosing my part to the rest of the forum? Thanks for the ear and hope everyone else has a wonderful week. Jamey
