Lucky,i wonder whether you could tell me where i can just paste all those codes in without having errors in the post MPHEID.PST given by mastercam.by the way the post is for inch
-
i tried Billh's idea,shifting the parting surface up 0.1 mm,i got my sharp edges.thanks!
-
what i am saying is for all parts in general whereby
you do not want rounded edges but only sharp edges in all cavities
-
in the advanced settings tab,i set to automatic, but the tool still roll over edges making it a bit rounded.gap settings i put to broken.but if i put gap settings by extending tangential line ,it could overcut.
-
can anyone knows how to make the edges sharp using suface finish parallel especially in a mold cavity but the parameter settings are abit confusing.while tool center boundary set to center,as what i have done, causes the edges to be rounded
-
thanks everyone, after i added max rad to the post,it now posted max rad without anymore big radius
-
i didn't draw a big radius on purpose, but rather it was converted from splines and unwittingly use it in my toolpaths.backplot and verify didn't catch it.i am using a fanuc modified post
-
is there a way to postprocess the toolpath, but to get rid of the ridiculous big radius ,from the posted program bcos the OM Fanuc controller will overtravel and alarmed out!
-
UG still don't have chaining with plane mask opton.so if you do chaining the arrow would even go up everywhere!
-
i sometimes see this G53 in my posted program, could it due to gview not on top or toolplane not in top .normally it happened for 2D swept program
-
in verify with tool holder selected,it doesn't show the shoulder length of the cutter although this has been changed in the tool define parameter, what is wrong?
-
why can't the U.S follow the rest of the world and use the S.I units?then there won't be any confusion anymore
-
i thought there was a bug in the detect flats parameter as discussed in a previous thread?
-
If after you transform several operations of facing using create new operations and geometry box ticked and then you go into edit common parameters to change all the depths of the transform operations with say z stock to leave at z-0.1.close the parameters and then do a regen.surprise!if you open the parameters to check for z stock to leave, there was no change!so after you decide to change it with z stock to leave to z-0.1.close it and change all the other unchanged parameters to z-0.1,then do a regen.so you think everything was okay!you then postprocess it.voila!you check the z value, but found it all to have taken the earlier z depths of your former untransformed operations!a bug there!

thanks for the help everybody

does anyone knows how to save a file as mc9 without the toolpath operations in it?
-
a coons patch?heard of it but don't know how to use it,only wireframe used so far and easy to use is the 2D swept
-
i am using windows 2000
-
right now i am using Eagle Eyes software-File Merger V2.0 which is a freeware program.thanks anyway Rekd
-
it didn't ask me anything,it just instals itself!
-
it seems liked you can only merge 2 nc files, more than that the error comes out,and program window closes
-
but Rekd, after pressing merge files, ther is an error message"Run-time error '9',subscript out of range" then everything closes
-
it could be you need to change break arc into quadrant in the post
-
thanks Rekd, that's what i'd wanted for!

it was this arc endpoint incorrect error in a surface rough pocket using a 4 mm cutter.i used all the recommendations suggested by all of you members but to no avail.Lucky was suggesting some codes to be changed in the post but there was errors in the post if i just pasted all those codes in.but funnily if i use a 3 mm cutter the alarm error goes away.any suggestions?
