Ain't that the truth... Guess who used to be our dealer prior to S4A?
You guessed right...

quote:HaHa YEAH! I love the sound of chips hissing off a machine
That's the only drawback so far... Too much smoke from the chips hitting the coolant on the bottom of the machine. Today's forecast is pretty foggy

We try to stay around .010.. Until trying the Iscar Feed Mill. The damn thing is cutting @ .025 chip load . And according to the rep "this is only the beginning". The material is 420 Stainless (35 RC), and the cutter is 2.5" Dia. 5 flute. The thing is wild going @ 112.ipm with doc of .072. It's in a 40 HP Horizontal machine with a 50 Taper. The spinle load naver got past 40% yet.

Very sad day indeed.Johnny Cash may be gone, but his music is here to stay forever...
There is still David Allen Coe left to play some "real" country music and be seen live.

That is the way to go...I Use this option constantly.

I could tell you who NOT to go with...Mitsubishi.
Don't get me wrong, they are great machines, but since they moved their operations back to Japan their service is terrible. The service guy I have to deal with speaks only Japanese, and that makes for a few communication problems.

My deepest condolences to the whole RYR team, especially the Parker and Howell families.

Good luck learning Mastercam. You will not regret it.
There are some great minds in here when it comes to using Mastercam. Take full advantage of this forum because no other software offers this kind of help.

midgard,
Welcome to the forum.
I'm not familiar with heidenhain posts, but there are two versions of it on the download disk. Of course you most likely will have to modify it to your liking. If you need a post made for you, contact your dealer.

Goldmine software... Seems to work pretty good in here. Don't think it's cheap though.

Do you have your rapid retract unchecked? If so do you also have retract & plunge values for your tool?
