  3. I am a Mastercam App. Eng. which working in Dealer. And I use a Dealer key...How can I use the "Mastercam X forums"...?? Thanks....
  4. Oh.... You just made a directory in c:program filesmcam9temp Because you don't have "temp" directory...!!
  5. San Diego CAD/CAM Poway, California Based on information provided by Craig Madsen, CM3D June 9, 2002 It is possible to reduce dramatically Mastercam surface toolpath calculation times; by up to 50-90%. 1. Download the new appmch9.exe from the Mastercam web site that should be available in a week or two. This should cut surface toolpath processing speeds in half. 2. Turn off display of surface/plane intersections during toolpath creation. (Screen, Configure, NC Settings, Surface Settings, click off Display surface/plane intersections. This simply displays the temporary “grey” toolpaths as they are being created and processed; which have limited utility and many people find distracting anyway. The toolpath process will be displayed in the prompt area, and finish toolpaths will be displayed upon completion. Turning these off can reduce processing time by nearly half. 3. Add more RAM. 256MB minimum, 512MB best. 4. Set up a RAM disk. Download Ramdisk Pro from www.eecsys.com. Cost is $79 and they offer a free 30 day trial. Set up a RAM disk of 64MB minimum, 128 MB better (depending on how much ram you have on computer; recommend 256-512MB). a. Change the Mastercam configuration to write Temp and Regen files to this ram disk (Screen, Configure, Files, set Temporary files and Regen Files RGN to S:). b. Note that REGEN files will be lost after the computer is turned off, or if the RAMDISK becomes full. 5. Sometimes Mastercam (Word, Solidworks, and others, too) will tend to “hang”; which can be interpreted that the system has locked, when it has not. Turn off Windows automatic indexing service. Go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Windows components, and unselect Indexing Service. 6. Turn off gouge checking under Mastercam surface toolpaths Gap settings. These take a lot of processing time when active. In some cases, you may want these off when doing the trial toolpaths, then turn them on before creating the toolpaths you plan to run. Or, carefully verify the toolpath and turn gouge checking back on if you detect a problem. a. Check retract for gouge. This is probably the “safest” gouge check setting to disable. It checks for tool/part gouging as the tool retracts. b. Check motion for gouge. This checks for gouges as the tool moves between cuts (from one pass to the next). 7. Turn Restore entire NCI file on File/Get off (Screen, Configure, NC Settings). This greatly speeds file read. Though the NCI will be restored only if you Backplot toolpaths.
