I have a similar problem ocasionally It seems to related to the verification, If a run verify in solids ( also should mention my stock looks twisted, but verifies correctly ) when I return to selection the highlight does not function. I save the file and reload it again. and the highlight works again.

If I use Mastercam communications thru the editor it works perfectly , now when I start it from the toolbar alone, it acts strange. I start by opening Commnications , looks fine, Now I choose to receive , It ask me to save as , I select my file name , Click save , Then it asks me to save as again , I select a different name just for diagnostics, then save. The receive screen pops up , I send the program from the machine , It receives fine to the second file name , then mcxcomm crashes and wants to send a error report. I choose don't send , and the editor stays open with the program saved to the second file name, Works fine. Almost seems like it is trying to start two mastercam communication programs and crashes the first ???

I'm a new user to 3-d Machining. We have been machining these lofted surfaces that form a trough thru a part 4.500" wide 3.000" deep and 27.000" long, open ended. I've used the pocket roughing with a 2" face mill that uses .250 radius inserts to remove the material fast.Works very well, SOMETIMES. Mastercam gives me some strange toolpaths. I found that playing with the % of stepover, I stumble on the right % and it works, if I don't mastercam somtimes ignores machining angle and leaves stock, which it cuts later in a lower pass, giving me a very deep cut. Looking for suggestions, Is this the wrong way to do this , or is this the result of a bug.

I just upgraded to version 8 from the old dos version.Alot of changes.Considering taking a training course soon. This Forum will be very helpful. THANK-YOU
