  1. The Onsrud carbide router bits come in 'upcut' and 'downcut'. Perhaps one will work well for your needs. They sure cut nice.
  2. The Streaming Teacher program is great stuff.
  3. Memory can be upgraded but the best all-around I think is the USB retrofit from Calmotion. I have a 4020 with 42k of memory but the usb gives you unlimited memory. It basically acts like dnc off a computer but it uses the usb instead. The only drag is you need to go through and strip the comments out of your code but that's no big deal.
  4. Gap settings, tangential line length I believe will do it.
  5. -Fadal 4020 -Fadal VMC15 -Bridgeport EZ-Trak DX (2) -Trak DPM bed mill (2) -Trak TRL1630 SX lathe -CMS GT27 CNC lathe - + Hardinge HLV-H and Chevy surface grinder
  6. We got our Fadal post from Allan Jones. Works great but we don't use 4th axis so can't help with that.
  7. Here is, no doubt, a simple problem but I can't seem to find a fix.... In X4 when I copy or create a new drill cycle, then copy points from a different cycle, and MC asks "retain depth values of merged drill points?" At some point I've ended up with some drill cycles that have the Depth 'greyed out'; I can't select it, change it, and Overwrite depth doen't seem to give me an option to do anything. I've sure if I spend enough time looking I could find an answer but I need to get machining so perhaps someone can throw me a quick solution here. I'm a 9.1 guy with 6 months of X2 (3 years ago) and a month of X4 here. Thanks.
