  1. How do you know where zero is on the screen? Do I make the zero myself? At our machine shop we zero our parts right dead center.When I draw a part on screen do I set-up my material first then work from that zero? How do most people set-up there parts on mastercam?
  2. Im sorry the correct code is G98 G81 R.05 Z-.5 F5. K0; ..A0 B0 C(DEG.) H36 R(RADIUS);
  3. Ive disabled the interlocks on my machine too... They do protect the employees though, that dont know what they are doing.The best thing to do is to train the people not to mess with the safty equiptment. For the machinist who has been there and done that for years...Leave the hazards up to him.I hate when inexperience operators/programmers who are scared of the machine think they are always right. I would set-up multiple parts to increase production on a cnc milling machine.
  4. Use this if your using a FUNUC control ...G98 G81 R.05 Z- H R (clear) (depth) (# of holes) (radius) EX: G98 G81 R.05 Z-.5 H30 R10. you can change the Z- for all holes
  5. I make aluminum axle blocks and always break taps..Using a Sandvik carbide drill will do the job.Get your zero on the hole run about 1700 rpm and let the drill burn the tap. You do not want to be blowing on the hole too much.Cooling off the drill will only make it brittle.The part should not be affected by the heat at all. I just wish someone would come out with a tap extract for a spiral tap.
