  1. The dynamic rotation inside of Verify (Simulator) will use the original stock whenever the complexity of the model and toolpaths gets to a point where it takes more than 5 milliseconds to repaint each movement. This was implemented for performance reasons and if not implemented would cause the rotation to lock and become very unpleasant to use. You do have the collision checking window to to catch any collisions if you are concerned that something occurred while you were rotating. By double clicking on any of the collision entries, you can jump the tool to that location and further analyze any issue.

    I really do not like this new feature. I need to view the area being cut from multiple views while it is being machined. I realize that I can hit the pause button, rotate the view, then hit the play button again. But to do this 100s of times is burdensome and a waste of time. However I would like to offer a suggestion. When verifying and the user chooses to rotate the view, how about an automatic pause and then when the user stops rotating the verify continues.

  2. X7 creates these folders IMG, MSC, NPL, NST, SST, XML, and places them in my “jobs” folder. They are empty and I don't want them there cluttering things up. If needed I would gladly have them somewhere else (like “user data folder” or “shared data folder”), but can't figure out where the setting is. In settings – configuration – files, I specify that all the geometry files (MCX, DWG, etc…) point to my “jobs” folder, but I don't see anything about the folders I have listed above. So does anyone know where the setting is for these folders to be created elsewhere?

  3. Thanks for your answer!

    So it is no another way around it?

    From what I remember it would only do this on the last chain. So if you had 3 chains, the first 2 would work fine but not the last one. What I ended up doing was creating a fake or dummy chain up and away from the part and cut air for the last chain.

  4. Going through this right now.

    I get it when Helixing into the part here and there.

    The machine just stops right there.

    Mikron HSM 300

    Mikron VCE 1000

    This scares me and that is why I just don't post and run the code, I don't know what it is going to do. Without 3rd party NC verification its too much of a gamble.

    I see this with other paths as well. Where does it actually" MARK the invalid arc endpoint"? How do you see it?

    This doesn't work anymore - at least as far as I can tell. Several versions back It would create a 3D point (geometry), so then you could see where the invalid arc was when backplotting.

  5. I keep getting this error and am concerned that a posted program with this error will cause some unintended results (i.e. crash or surface violation). It occurs with OptiCore. I was able to eliminate it by turning off the "line/arc filtering settings - create arcs in XY". But now my programs are much longer and also takes forever verify. Any other suggestions? With this be fixed in X7?

  6. Using 2D HST Blend Mill (X6 MU1) and trying to get tapered walls on the the depth cuts. The reason is so the shank of the tool wont rub once it goes deeper than the flute length. Selected tapered walls and put in 1 degree, but it doesn't appear to be working for me... any tips?

    FYI - comp direction set to left, and cutting "along" the chain.

  7. I need to setup a win32 computer (probably Win XP) and install an older version of Mastercam to get geometry from GE3 files (as well as MC7). What is the latest version of Mastercam that will open the GE3 files?

  8. Also fixed my Cimco editor, it too was pointing to the wrong folder.

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\CIMCOEdit.exe\shell\open\command "C:\Program Files\mcamx6\common\Editors\CIMCOEdit5\CIMCOEdit.exe" "%1"

    And I didn't have to reboot for this to work.

  9. Yup, the registry edit worked. It was obviously pointing to the wrong (nonexistent) folder. Surprised the X6 install didn't fix it.

    FYI - This is what I changed;

    OLD ;

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\Mastercam.exe\shell\open\command "C:\mcamx\Mastercam.exe" "%1"

    NEW;

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\Mastercam.exe\shell\open\command "C:\program files\mcamx6\Mastercam.exe" "%1"

    AND reboot the computer
