Like I said in the other thread... I ran it and sent it in. Only took a few minutes.

Thanks for pushing this issue further... I ran and sent in the report. BTW - I have a minimum delay of 3 to 5 seconds when accessing the new X4 toolpath parameters. This delay grows to 30 seconds the longer I run Mastercam (then I can’t take it anymore). So I have to restart Mastercam and then the delay goes back to 3 to 5 seconds.

In the Surface highspeed toolpaths you can use feed moves instead of rapid moves. With the feed moves, you get true point to point which will verify correctly. Also you can set those feed moves as fast as you want.
For example in the surface highspeed toolpaths go to the Linking Parameter page and select either Minimum Vertical Retract or Minimum Distance and then click the Output feed move check box and fill in the feedrate you want.

There is always the possibility of dual boot. Win 7 and some older version of windows...

Interesting... that particular Mastercam dealer still has the PDF available for download. Maybe it's a marketing tactic... like the latest Iphone that was "lost" before its initial release...

Yes it is a Microsoft Excel program... maybe try downloading it again? Also there are two copies of it. (slightly different name) try the other one scallop+height.xls OR scallop height.xls

There is a spreadsheet file on the FTP site called scallop height.xls - its in the Tools folder.

Yes filtering helps.
Also my crashing problem can sometimes be remedied by doing the following;
Running one toolpath and save the STL, then bring in that STL and run the second toolpath on it, and keep repeating...
I hate jumping through hoops. Its just very time consuming... I guess its time for a new computer and maybe a X5 enhancement.

I have the same issues... Also Verify crashes if the the toolpaths are too large.
Hopefully there is an answer... maybe in X5???

It figures out the RA based on the cutter size and step over. There are two different methods to figure out the RA depending on what data you supply.

On the cut parameter page make sure Linearlize helixes is unchecked.

I have the same issue. Also I can't use the turbo button since I was machining from the bottom WCS, and I get the following;
quote:WarningTrueSolid turbo: 3-axis moves in top view onlyAnd I can't turn off "TrueSolid" because I use the verify to compare against a STL file.
Mic6 try turning off TrueSolid in the Verify options. Of course as I mentioned above there are some limitations in doing so, but it should be faster.

Have you checked here?

With all that "extra" ram have you thought about using a ramdisk?
Or installing one of those solid state drives?

I did a quick test... started V9 and shading was on. I looked at screen, configure, screen (tab) and "enable OpenGL drawing" was not selectable. I exited out of screen config... toggled off shading (Alt-S), then went back in to screen, config and now "enable OpenGL drawing" is selectable. When it is selectable, change your setting and save the config file.

The trick is that shading must be turned off in order to set "Enable OpenGL"

V9 hadhas analyze, dynamic just as X does - which works great.
However in analyze, surface, curvature - it would shade the all the different radii different colors. You set the radius limits (minimum to maximum detectable radius) and through trial and error figure out the sizes. For example only shade radii from .01 to .025 - if nothing was shaded then reset the radius limits from .025 to .05 etc...
-
In older versions of Mastercam (before X) there was this functionality... I miss that feature, and glad to hear its coming back.
If you have version 9 installed;
from the main menu, analyze, surfaces, curvature...

Check the control def, nc output.
EDIT:
my understanding is the control def handles this now, but I just checked in one of my posts... its defined as sequence numbers... in the post search for omitseq$

Good to hear you found a work around.

Does it have reverse engineering capabilities?

Check to see if the toolpath filenames are the same.
ntvdm.exe missing - windows 7 64 bit

I got a new computer with windows 7 64 bit and tried installing X4. Everything installed but sometimes when I first start Mastercam I get the following error;
If I click "ok" Mastercam runs fine. I did try a repair and also tried reinstalling... but the error still appears about every other time I start Mastercam. I did a search found there was a hotfix called x3-x64-hotfix.exe and even though I'm not running X3 I gave it a shot, but got an error that said;
Then a second error;
Any ideas?
