RHINO will do it for you. i have done it a couple times to show customers the machining process of their parts

i am with GCODE on this one
bad idea to post with just one click

thanks for the replies guys. found the problem. had a corrupt MU3 install

use depth cuts and keep the tool down so it does not retract but changes the z depth at the end of the first depth pass

Thanks for the replies guys but what i am looking for is something similar to the ALT+V. One of our systems is still running Windows XP and X6 MU3 keeps crashing on that system only, so I am trying to find out if the IT dept inadvertently loaded the 64 bit onto a 32 bit system and forced the software to install.

question for the forum
how do i determine if i am running the 32bit or 64bit of Mastercam X6MU3?

Gcode, i think that solved my problem. keeping my fingers crossed. you were right my nci file for the first op was 10 megs and the rest were 3 megs. after filtering the sizes dropped to 1/3.

need some help guys. don't know if anyone experienced this before. whenever i have a lot of the newer surface rough toolpaths Mcx 5 Mu1 crashes on posting. sent the problem over to CNC Software and they were a big help. they recommend talking to my reseller. cant attached any file on the site for obvious reasons. any help would be appreciated.

This happens to me a lot. When I lose the ability to right-click in the levels manager I know when I hover the mouse over the level or color buttons on the bottom bar the mouse pointer will disappear. It seems to be completely random when it happens too
this used to happen to me also. the latest windows update did that. IT dept did an update the video cards and every thing else that MCX needs to run and problem went away.

64 bit here McamX5 MU1 crashes every time on posting today. maybe i have too many optirough routines.

your defaults in the control defs have to be changed thru the machine defs or they will not stick. tool libraries & material libraries data paths have to be changed in the general machine parameters thru the machine defs. when saving use the file save icon ( top left ) first before pushing the green check button.

Apologies if this is in the wrong forum.
Our Machine and control defs were renamed to match each machine names. When they were renamed all misc integers and reals were renamed back to default. The question is are they still there and i just have to rename them or have they been wiped out? Due to security reasons i cannot post any files etc. any help would be appreciated.

Mike Materra has a few training CDs on his site 'Tips for manufacturing.' i have used one for the lathe with no regrets. they are a little pricey but well worth it.

snipping tool does the job

cutter comp is still active. generate a G40 in MDI.

flashing LSK is the lead skip. that means it is trying to output the programs but the accepting device is not correct. your I/O value should be set based on the device your are sending to or receiving from. your Fanuc manual should have this info to change the value.
off the top of my head i can't recall which parameter controls this. maybe some one can chime in.

on the emastercam issue you are probably already logged in. had it happen to me.

i would never attempt to transform mirror a surface tool path, all you are doing is asking for trouble because the normals changes etc.
-
i have used CHICK's on the horizontals and verticals and now use the LANG Makro grip Self centering vises on the 5 Axis machines

if you look at the operations tree in the backplot window the highlighted one is the one currently running

I would recommend PLANE SPATIAL. From what I understand the difference between SPATIAL and CYCLE 19, is SPATIAL is absolute and CYCLE 19 is incremental - I may be wrong on that explanation, somebody can correct me. But our post was changed from CYCLE 19 to SPATIAL and all our rotational issues went away.
This was my code for CYCLE 19 on the TNC530
47 ;
48 CYCL DEF 19.0 WORKING PLANE
49 CYCL DEF 19.1 A+0 C+337.5
50 L A+Q120 C+Q122 FMAX
And for SPATIAL
107 PLANE SPATIAL SPA+0 SPB+0 SPC-22.5 TURN F MAX SEQ- TABLE ROT
