  1. Sorry, forgot to put that in there. Changed arc centers from absolute to incrimental on my cincy 850SX.
  2. I'm not shure why vut when I upgraded to mu2 one of my posts was changed in the controll definition. Not a big deal to fix, it was something I had to do when I wnt to X5 and updated posts, but it was kind of a surprise when I took a file to the floor and it wouldn't run. I ran this thru search before I posted and didn't get any returns, so I wondered if it was something I did.
  3. Just a thought. Is it possible to re-scan? If so reduce the resolution on the scanner for lower point density?
  4. Does anyone know if this machine and control will support direct communication via rs232. I know it's old, but its what they would buy. i was told by the seller that it would support this, but had a bad i/o board. I know I could go with a BTR, but it was hard enough to get the company to spring for this machine. I kept a series K 2 axis running for 4 years before they decided to buy this one. I dont want to spen the money on a new board if all it will do is drive a tape punch.
  5. We do a lot of reverse engineering on broken or damaged die steels, and since the company won't buy a CMM to do the digitizing, we use one of the CNC mills and a ball type electronic touch off probe to digitize by hand. Takes forever, is labor intensive, ties up a mill and operator, and I have to enter by hand ut to 1000 X Y and Z coordinates as points into MC but they still think thats cheaper than a used CMM. Oh well they pay me well. Bill
  6. Thank you to everyone. He put teh old card back in yesterday, and everything is working again. The old card is a GE Force2 MX200. They are supposed to be ordering a new card, and I will pass along teh recomendations. I guess I've been depending on IT for too long, and am behind on teh technology. My systems at home are somewhat dated except for the new sony vaio. Thanks again! Bill
  7. IT just installed an Nvidia g-force 6200 graphics card in my system, and now X2 is so slow it is almost unusable. Can anyone give me any insight into the issues so I can pass them on to the IT people. Thanks Bill
  8. Possibly turn vectors off at the controll?.. Just guessing.
  9. Lots of classes and training on Unigraphics at the last job, but when I started here they couldn't afford UG. Got Mastercam, and lots of extra hours and homework to transition. Also lots of good folks here on the forum. By the way, Welcome!
  10. +1 on the thanks. I've been fighting the same thing. Just goes to show it's a good thing to browse the topics!
  11. Thanks John and Henk. It looks like they ordered another seat for wire. Not what I asked for buy it's their money, and I'll take it. Now all I have to do is convince them that they have to put both sims on to make it work. Oh well, I've had MR2 downloaded for about two months also and can't seem to get them to install that either. Sent this one from home on another account....no siggy....
  12. I finally got the company to buy wire about two months ago and just now the is people are starting to install. They tell me now that I can't have the wire software on the same system as my mill v.X. Does anyone else have both running on the same system? Help!!
  13. Thanks Bruce! Too simple.. Oh well, see my other post
  14. Thanks Bruce! Too simple.. Oh well, see my other post
  15. I used to use break at length in v9 quita a lot for the things we do, but I can't find it in X. I've got a way around it by using 'many pieces' with the length I need, but then I have to go back and join the rest of the line bsck together. Any other way?
  16. Finally did a complete project in X without converting back to 9.1 to finish it. Yes, I will be faster in X, and it does seem easier now. At least I didn't post any negative comments I would have to say I'm sorry for. It just takes time and effort. I do miss a few things though. Maybe in MR2. Still waiting for IS people to install it.
  17. John, I've tried and given up on making the line straight. Now, I creat the dimension to the point turn on edit text copy the dimension and then do a note with a single leader and paste the text in there. Its a work around, but it works.
  18. Thanks Iskander. Going to try that now.
  19. Thank you both for the help. Just frustrating having to re-create parts!
  20. Salahuddin, File size is still the same in details, and using properties, I can see the preview,so it's still there. Auto save was what caused the problem. Started an autosave and got the error message fatal error, closing. After I re started Mc, the file will open, but the geometry is gone. Iskander, THe crash happened during a save. The descriptor seems to be the only thing affected. File size is still the same as before. When I open it in Mc, it opens, but no geometry. Just like a new file.
  21. Just had a crash during a save. Teh file is still there, but doesn't access through MC. Using right click and properties, it shows as a preview but the descriptor is scrambled. Does anyone have a way to recover? I'm Running V9.1 MR0105. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Bill
  22. This is probably a silly question, but it would save me a lot of time if I could do this. I creat a lot of geometry which I use for both left and right hand parts. After creating one side, I just mirror and have the other hand part. The problem is with drafting. Notes mirror fine, but dimensions mirror the characters also, and I can't find a way to get them reversed back. The positions are good, but the test is backwards. I can use either 9.1 or ver.X MR2 to do this if there is a way. Thanks Bill
  23. Thanks guys. I'm not giving up yet, but I realy could use a training class I guess.
  24. I know I'm probably missing it, but I can't find it. How do you do a change levels in X? I did a search on the forum and found out about a bug, but i can't figure out how to even get it to try.
