  1. I think you are rite. I was not checking the box. However, when I print a 5x5 square it's about .025 to small...any thoughts?
  2. I would like to know how to get a 1-1 print as well. I can't seem to figure out why printing at 100% scale will sometimes be 1-1 and sometimes be something completely off the wall.
  3. I just realized what was causing it. It looses the hasp every time I print. I just tested it several ways. It does it regardless of Mastercam being opened. If I print it looses the hasp. What’s strange is that it never did this to me before I loaded X.
  4. The test file is under the mcamx directory. I just ran it and it said it was a hasp 4.
  5. No, but they say that it will not work with a hasp 3 at all. My hasp works, but not well enough.
  6. It never lost it before I updated to x. And no I'm not running a net hasp. Also, I think it is a hasp 4, but it's parallel not usb and I am printing through it.
  7. I just received mastercam X. I loaded it and then updated my hasp with the new code. It took it fine; no errors. However, when I run Mastercam it will loose the hasp several times each day. Anyone been through this?
  8. Thanks for the advice. I think I will offset the major surfs and try to construct fillets.
  9. How do I get a part to shrink uniformly inside it's self. If I use the shrink tool it makes the smaller areas shrink less than the larger areas. I understand why, but not what I can do about it. Essentially I need to shell my surfaces inward instead of scaling it. Thanks Todd
  10. I don't think my post is set up for sub progs. I'll need to correct that first. Thanks for all your help!!!
  11. I'll give it a shot, but what I often get is just the same operation posted, in full, over and over.
  12. Hi all! I was about to repeat the same part 42 times on one table. I use a G52 to accomplish this (e.g. G52 Y-2 will offset a whole sub program by –2” on Y). I use this offset so I don’t have to regen the whole sub program and thus I eliminate a lot of code. Also, I don’t have to manually enter the offsets into my controller for a G54. Can Mastercam create a executable to run sub programs and offset the coordinate zero to move the programs? If I can’t find a way to do it in Mastercam then I’ll need to do the offsets 42 times myself.
  13. Thanks Ron, I overlooked that file. I'll give that a try and see what I can destroy.
  14. Hi all, I need a DAT file to use as a template for animating my files. Mastercam does not come with one. Does someone have one of these files or can someone help me create one. I can’t figure it out from Mastercam’s help file.
  15. I work for Formation Plastics out of Quinter, KS. We only have one CNC at this point, but are ever growing. Our CNC is a 5 axis Motionmaster: Coupled with mastercam it does fairly well for me.
  16. Matt, I really appreciate this. I should have been able to get this done on my own. I have the knowledge to do it, but sometimes I need a little kick in the right direction. I extended the lines and curves as you did and created curves along the outside edge of the part. Then I broke them where the faces ended. Next I created Swept surfaces along the curves and lines. Again, thank you and a big thanks to all who contributed!
  17. Matt, that is exactly what I have been trying to do. How did you do it? I’ve tried to extend, stretch, scale, extrude, trim, … and everything els I could think of. Also, I tried with both surfaces and solids.
  18. I really appreciate what you guys did and it was somewhat correct. I will need that flange at some point, but first the faces need to be moved out. In other words, the flange would sit ½” farther from the part and the part would extend to it. This would add the ½” that I will need for a router operation later. I thought I might have been unclear when I first posted and I think I was right…sorry.
  19. I should have clarified that a little. This is a part drawing not a mold drawing. I need to make a mold out of it by extending the faces on the cut off side and trimming them flat. They need to extend at least 1/2". Then I will need to move the mold faces to a female or male position. At this point I can determine weather we will form off the outside or inside faces. This is will be a thermoformed part.
  20. Sorry I had not checked in yet this morning. You are correct it is in the Mc9 folder. Let me know if I need to upload it again or if you would like any more info.
  21. I have posted the file on the FTP. It is BD122 MOLD LAYOUT. Because of it’s size I zipped it up. I need to extend out the .100 faces and cut it off flat. Thanks for your help!!!
  22. I have searched the forum high and low and can’t find the answer to my dilemma. More often than not, we receive files from our customers; from programs other than Mastercam. My job then is to extend the outside edges of these parts to create a mold. So far I have been fortunate to have flat surfaces and planes to work from, however, that has just changed. I have a part which has very few flat surfaces and thus no plane to work off of. The part is shelled to .100". I’m wondering if there is a way to extrude solids from the .100” wide faces to keep the integrity of the part. Also, you should know the .100” wide faces are not 90 degrees to the sides.
  23. Thanks all, looks like I’ve got plenty of options. Matt, we are out by Hays. Jay, I completely missed that. I should be able to put a – number in there and come out all right. Thanks again all!!!
  24. Background: I cut plastics with a 5 axis Motionmaster. Question: I need to cut through the plastic. Therefore I need my swarf cuts to be deeper that the lower rail of my drawing. How do I tell Mastercam to move below the lower rail? Please help…..thanks.
  25. I have Mastercam V9.1 and a Motionmaster 5 Axis CNC with an Allen Bradley Controller. I live in a little town just west of Hays.
