  1. The 2 guys in the shop are complaining that MC crashes on them a lot when they pull in a SW file, and start manipulating it, or when they start setting up operations. Both are running Dell 3630, i7-8700 (3.2GHz), SSD, Win 10 Pro, Radeon Pro WX 4100 vid card. Seems to me the computer should be good. Any idea what the issue is? Is this common w/ MC2021?
  2. Bringing up an old thread - same problem. The knowledgebase links doesn't work. Help?
  3. Are they playing nice together? I need to upgrade our engineering computers to SW 2021, and need to make sure the shop computers can be upgraded to match.
  4. It is looking for a .nhcode. The codes we have are .hcode. Do I need to get newer hasp codes from our reseller?
  5. Old (Win 7) computer in the shop is dying, so I am trying to set up a new (old, but good) computer. It is Windows 10, if that matters. I installed MC2019. I notice when I plug the hasp in, nothing happens (I expected the computer to recognize a new USB component.) And I have tried it in different USB ports. When I double click the hasp update, it says it can not find the hasp. What gives?
  6. Just want to make sure I'm doing this in the right order. mastercam2019-update1-web mastercam2019-update2_1-patch mastercam2019-update2-patch mastercam2019-update3_1-patch Is this the right order? Haven't upgraded Mastercam in 3 years. Running Mastercam X9 now. Any other advice would be appreciated. Thank you!
  7. Looks like I need to install patch 1, then patch 2, before I can install Patch 3. EDIT: That's confirmed. You can't skim from X9 install to patch 3. Seems like there was a version that you could in the past.
  8. I followed this exactly, and got the succeeded message. But I still get the same error message when I try to install the patch.
  9. I upgraded to X9, and when I try to run the Update 3 patch, I get this error http://www.dropbox.com/s/bf1zhpd92jqoxfk/X9.JPG?dl=0
  10. So I would need X9 full installation, and X9 Update 3?
  11. Great. Thanks! PS, what do you have against drones? My son just got one.
  12. I'm looking to upgrade our SolidWorks to 2016. Was on here to see if MC X9 was ready for SolidWorks 2016. So you're saying it is??
  13. I see X7 will load Parasolid data for SW 2013. Will it work with SW2014? I tried a SW2015 file - no dice. (I realize I'm falling behind here...) THANKS !
  14. Can someone here send me a SW2013 .sldprt file? I would love to try to import it before I move this computer to the shop. It can be a simple rectangle with some drilled or tapped holes. Thanks. [email protected]
  15. Sweet !!! That did it. Next question... can someone send me a SW2013 part file we can try out? We haven't upgraded our SW yet. [email protected] Thanks,
  16. Every time we upgrade to the next MC, we have an issue with being able to pick an edge. You can only pick faces. There is a fix we've been running, but that won't work now. (I've attached a pic of the "fix" attempt) We are opening a SW2011 part file, if that helps. Thanks, (sorry for the double-post... browser was hanging up. Please delete one of them).
  17. No, we're mostly drilling, tapping, and milling in X / Y. We're replacing some SW computers with newer computers, so the shop manager will keep his decent laptop, and I'll replace the other one I mentioned, and one more I didn't mention (pentium 1, 512 K ram dinosaur running MC9) with: (2) Dell Precision 490 with Xeon dual-core 2GHz processor, 3GB RAM, and NVIDIA Quadro FX3500 vid card. New copies of Win 7 Pro will be loaded.
  18. Noticing on Mastercam's site the system requirements: Processor § 2.5 GHz Intel Pentium 4 (or equivalent) minimum § 32-bit or 64-bit Intel®-compatible processor Note: The processor must be SSE2-compatible. Intel-compatible processors manufactured since 2003 should be SSE2-compatible. Operating System § Windows XP, Windows Vista® (Business or Ultimate), or Windows 7 (Professional or Ultimate) including the latest service packs and recommended updates Memory § 2 GB minimum § Additional RAM recommended for optimal performance Graphics Configuration § 256MB OpenGL-compatible graphics card (minimum) § Professional-level graphics card designed for CAD/CAM applications required, NVidia Quadro or AMD FirePro series recommended § Integrated graphics controllers are not supported § 1280 x 1024 pixel resolution (minimum) § Full hardware acceleration display setting is recommended One computer is an epic fail. (pentium 2GHz, Win XP 32 bit, 2 GB ram, integrated graphics. The other one has an i7 2GHz processor with "turbo boost" up to 2.9 GHz, Win7, 6GB RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce 525M vid card with 1 GB RAM. Will the processor be enough?
  19. So from X5MU1...we load X6, then X6MU2, then X6MU3... correct?
  20. What's the procedure if you're coming from X5MU1 ?
  21. How soon is soon? Any idea? Seriously, I was hated pretty badly around here by our shop guys 3 or 4 years ago for jumping the gun.
  22. Disclaimer: I'm not a Mastercam user - I'm a SolidWorks user. Every time we get the SW update, we have to wait about 6 months for our shop manger to get Mastercam updated before we can load the new SolidWorks. We didn't even bother with SW 2012. So, are the updates for Mastercam coming out faster then they used to? Is the X6 MU2 update really all they need to get to be able to use our SW2013 files? We'd really like to be able to upgrade SW before the next big project.
