2.Error writing to Surface Machining temporary file

Also, can older tmp files be deleted? Thank you

  2. I am having problems toolpath contour window. I seem to remember there was a way to contain geometry (in this case created letters)

In a window and the geometry would be high lighted. I cannot choose window and the geometry read. I think I am missing a pick or a switch. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

  3. Gentlemen, Installing MCX3 on a new laptop, we get the following message When starting the program

“The application or DLL D mcamxMClogr.exe is not a windows image.

Please check this against your installation diskette.”

This dose not seems to affect the running of MCX, but it is annoying. Anybody else have this problem. Anyone have a fix.

    Thanks in advance

  4. Morning All,

Is anyone aware of a way to capture an animated video display of Mastercam running a back plot or a verification process from the screen? I do not think Mastercam supports this function, but was wondering if any computer experts out there know of any software that can be purchased to accomplished this. Thanks in advance for any help.

  5. Roger, The original was created in X2, I copied

the file, and renamed it to X3. It is not a lot of trouble to create a new one from scratch and

try it that way.I will get to this later this afternoon and post the results. Thanks for your

    help in this matter.

  6. Morning All, when using X3 we will assign preset levels (*.CSV files) to the part. No problem in X2, using X3 we get an error code ‘ An invalid argument was encountered’. It then becomes necessary to shut done the program, upon reboot the levels are there. Has anyone encountered this, or know of a fix? Thanks all.

  7. ShefferCNC,

Thanks so much for the info, sorry for not getting back sooner,a new fire to put out in the mean time and I just got back to the same problem.I did not post an excess of digits in the axis move, however I think my feed move on the same line was excessive, posted F1069.06.When I

edited the line to F9069.06, no error.I think this may be something to adjust in the MD. Would not have caught it without you input!! Thanks again!!

  8. Morning All. On a Kitamura HX 300, a Fanuc 16i/mb we have just started getting a “(03) Too Many Digits’ error on continuous 4th axis programs. I

assume it has to do with the B Axis move, As we have not seen this before.I would very much appreciate any assistance and or advice members of the forum can render. Thanks All

  9. When machining off the tombstone, if I choose different a wcs my program will out put

correctly ( B90 B30 ect.), however when attempting to use a continuous 4th axis tool path

(5th axis curve, projection, Tilt Curve) the post will not output a B axis rotation. When verifying the tool will move in an arc around the axis and the work piece remains fixed. Looking at the output code,

There is no rotation of the B axis output in the code.I am a little confused as to where to even start looking to correct this problem. Also why would the verify screen show rotation of the tool around the axis of rotation rather than the rotation of thework piece.

Any help is very greatly apprecated, Thanks to all.

  10. Welcome to the forum, a truly great group of people, always willing to help. If I understand you question correctly. You can split the surface, use Surface Finish, Finish Scallop Tool Path on one surface and the same on the other. You can set the parameters of the cut ( Top to Bottom) in the same tool path. If you need roughing passes before the finish, I normally use the same tool path to achieve want I want but use

The stock to leave parameter to rough (with greater step over and depth of cut for speed).

I am not aware of a way to control the rapid retracts in a rough tool path mode.

  11. MasterCam comes with a utility called Aladdin. It

is a licenses utility, and I believe it is on the second disk. When it is installed on the server it

will show how many licenses are avaiaable and who

is using them. The person in charge of the servers

should be able to turn off the license from the same place. Check with your IT people
